Durable, punchy and dryish

I use these on my Gretch Renown kit, always get a great tom sound. Of course, a single ply head would be brighter, but this one is very durable and not too dark whatsoever.

Great Sounding and Durable Head

Double ply coated heads, these sound fantastic and provide a great tone. Ideal for gigging drummers or studio use, they record well and last for ages with heavy use. If you're dampening your drums to cut out overtones, these heads are worth a try.

Was a great head, but it produces a rather grainy sound.

Could quite possibly be good for a jazzy type of style, but would recommend clear heads for anything requiring a bit more punch rather than a rasp.

(Note it makes a cool noise when dragging the fingers across due to it being grainy.)

Excellent warm sound

Replacing a couple of worn heads on a second hand kit with the same Remo Emperor's that were on there before. They sound great.

The best drum heads you can get!

Amazing sound and tough as hell, the Emperor skins have given a new lease of life to my drum kit, the drummer loves them!

Quality product!

Beautiful, warm, dusty, grainy, nostalgic. Just some of the words I would use to describe the Emperor's sound.

These are double ply, but are probably the closest to a single ply sound you will get, and with the double ply durability and overtone control as an added bonus!

I can confidently record music with a new set of these, or play live, it all sounds good with them on!
