Very durable and help my Toms sound fuller and warmer! Highly recommended and great for almost any style of music.

Really good drumheads!

I've had them for over 3 years in my home studio drumset. They were durable and the sound was great from the time I bought them to the moment I replaced them! The only negative thing I find on this set is that there are more overtones than I expected!

Great warm sound

I play metal, and I've always used clear heads for my toms.

However, after I bought the Yamaha Tour Custom 8000 set, I decided to go with coated heads.

I play metal, and the toms of my Yamahas are pretty deep, deeper than the drums they make now. I wanted to have this powerful, but deep sound (which is helped by the construction of the Yamahas).

So far I haven't regretted my decision, as the toms sound really nice, warm and deep.

Most probably clear heads would have sounded good as well, but for now, I will stick with the coated ones.

A great set of heads

I use these on my toms as batter heads. Along with the clear ambassadors at the resonant side.

I really dig the sound - it's kind of jazzy and vintage, and really opens up in a bit of a higher tuning. But sounds great for a rocky lower tuning as well, I just prefer higher tunings. Good durability as well - hav had them on for 3 months now, and, although they of course have gotten dirty, the coating hasn't started to come off yet.

And for anyone whose not sure weather to put coated heads on your toms, I highly suggest trying it out - I was hesitant, but now I'm convinced that this is the way to go!

Improved the tone on Pearl Export kit massively.

Had kept original skins on for years, was well over-due replacements.

The toms sound great now, would definitely recommend.

Thicker tones, particularly when using brushes/hot-rods.

This was my first time using coated heads, and I am so glad I did! I've used a huge range of clear heads in the past and never been totally satisfied with the sound, these heads are great for huge rock drum tones!
