This is awesome when you have a gig in a crowded bar where people maybe dancing in front of you or just plain drunk and can not walk straight. Personally I want a little space between the guitar and the mic-stand so therefore I use the boom stand and then it sticks out a bit and many times I have had people stumbling into it and poor old me get the mic shoved straight into the teeth. Not the most pleasant experience. But with the swan neck I can minimize the boom sticking out and just twist the neck. Really awesome. And it also give the stand a different look wich I also enjoy.

I've used this particular gooseneck now for several years on the road and in studio and it has never failed me. It fits any standard mic stands perfectly and can hold an impressive amount of weight without drooping. I originally bought this so that I could hang my vocal mic (sm58) more comfortably over the drums, but I soon found plenty of other really practical applications for it (one of which being a go-to for precise bass drum mic positioning). I don't know how many times I've bent this thing for a show and then straightened it back out for transport, but it has never once failed me. The metal used in the construction is extremely sturdy and you notice it right out of the box. I can't recommend this gooseneck enough. Just about as close to a 10 out of 10 review as you can get.

I originally used this to mount a second mic to the lower portion of my stand. I found this so useful I bought a second one. Now I use them to extend the height of my stereo bar, or space mics differently in an array. I use them as a straight bar, or bend them to whatever angle I require. Sometimes I use both, screwed together, as a single piece. The quality is excellent, and they maintain their stiffness really well. I have had no issues with sagging, even when supporting four mics + shockmounts on a large stereo bar. All-in-all these are a very versatile part of my recording kit.
Gravity MA Goose XL

I've been singing backing for years behind the kit and I can tell you how awful it is trying to work a standard mic stand into position around your playing space. It's a nightmare. Try going an entire set without hitting your mic and/or stand with your sticks and/or head because you can't position it correctly. This product changed ALL of that. I swear these things are a best kept secret in the industry. I have introduced so many drummers to this on the road, it's unbelieveable. I decided to go with the XL version because I wanted the extra length in order to be able to hang my mic over my head from behind me on stage. So far it's survived close to 100 shows and it still looks and works the same as it did right out of the box. I bend and unbend this thing several times every week and...

they are wonderful and don't disturb my workflow. I am happy with the quality even though its not top end expensive. I like so much to have a S gooseneck and a size M and L and XL, the alternatives in size are great, each has its specific use. I wish there'd be a gooseneck that changes size =) maybe there is such a lovely piece of gear? simply put, we should all have a gooseneck in our pockets or gig bags or a spare one at home... they are made to serve and make your life easier and do it very well.
Gravity MA Goose S

This is quality and robust product from Gravity - very good value. Great because it support heavy microphones as my Sennheiser MD421, or 2 Rode NT1A on K&H stereo bar. I am using this Gravity MA Goose S mainly when place microphone on guitar cabinets with Sennheiser MD421-II, Beyerdynamic m201NC, Shure Sm57..and for Kick drum microphone placement - for this its a must because its very easy to put any microphone inside bass drum where you wont, and that can be painful with some microphone stands!. Highly recommended for anyone from audio amateur to professional, PA or studio ..Gravity is great company with top quality product from microphone stand to other accessories!

Upon first use, this impressed me with its compact yet weighty build. Its simplicity in my setup with a Roadworx Tripod Small and a mic, interfaced with an Android tablet via an iRig, make it great for on-the-go audio capture. I'd also say it's valuable for stability and noise-free flexibility, maintaining mic position perfectly even in motion or when the setup is jostled. Compared to less adaptable small mic stands I've had, it stands out. I highly recommended for those seeking a portable, reliable component for impromptu recording sessions.
Millenium Goose M

Great microphone support system, sturdy enough to hold heavy handheld dynamic microphones (like the Rode M1 for example) Used this in conjunction with a straight microphone stand for live performances and also to use a (lightweight) condenser microphone on the PC. The quality is very good and it's almost silent when moved, recommended for streamers and singers alike. Also used this to place kick drum and amplifiers microphones, and to mic up a double bass using it in conjunction with a short mic stand, it was very effective and it didn't obstruct too much the view from the audience.

These dont arrive wired!!! When you get them strip some old mic cable of its outer sheath and use the inner narrow cores to complete the wiring. Make sure you kepp the wires as short as possible. I though the wiring woyuld be difficult but the K and M people made good products and have some chamfered edges iside the neck to ease the wires thru when wiring. The connects are good quality, usual expected of neutrik and teh finish is solid. When buying a black goose neck the problem is always the unpainted areas, but here the neck can be bent in any direction and the visible colour is still black. The unit has a good positive resistance when bending so it will support heavier microphones as well as the usual 57's and 58's, etc. Happy goose necking.
