Doepfer A-143-3
Based on 6 reviews
The Doepfer system now contains a number of quadruple modules which are not only compact and space-saving but also provide for the possibility of a simple polyphonic set-up using a quad MIDI interface (Doepfer's is due to be released any week now, but there are already others on the market). This module has 4 identical LFOs each of which generates 3 different LFO waves in three frequency ranges (from 2 cycles per minute to over 5KHz according to Doepfer), selected with toggle switches. It is straightforward to understand and use and cost-effective too, since it is almost equivalent to 4 A-145s and costs less than twice as much. I like it so much I have two!
Behringer 150 Ring Mod/Noise/S&H/LFO

This great little module has a lot of features to spice up your sound. White noise 2 3.5mm outs, White noise 2 3.5mm outs, a Ringmodulator, A Sample and hold and an LFO. The ringmodulator works great and the inputs are internally wired to LFO and Noice if nothing is inserted to the input jacks. It sounds good, not super metallic (but it can sound metallic) I'd say it sounds more "earthy" and real. The S/H is fantastic. Also internally wired but switchable between noise, LFO and External. This also features a internal clock that you can use to drive other gear if you want. It has a clock in and sliders for tempo and Lag (Slide between sampled voltages). Now to the best piece, The LFO. This little thing doesn't look like much but it packs a lot of features. Firstly it har a...
Doepfer A-143-9

All in all this module is just worth any penny! Here are some pros and cons: - there are no cons, really pros: - the build quality is very good - i really like the two LEDs which show what is going on - i really like the concept of having 4 sinewaves in a different phase - I like that there are two CV inputs, even one attenuated - I love the range switch, gives a lot of flexibility - cheap price - doesnt take too much space in the rack I use this module in 95% of my patches, my patches are built oftentimes around that module. There is nothing i could complain about that module, really. My patches wouldnt be the same without that module. I recommend this module to everyone who is into modular.
Rides In The Storm DMO

It's two LFO/VCOs and they can cross modulate for some really wild effects. It does go into audio rates and has an exponential input, but it doesn't stay in tune over a very wide range of octaves. You can use it for sounds that span over a single octave, like Tom-toms. Build quality is good. The knobs wiggle a little bit but not too bad. The metal plate is very robust. The push buttons feel solid and don't get stuck. There are lots of ways to use this module, it's more than an LFO.
