Top sound, quality

Cannot recommend this kit enough. It is everything you need to start. I’m an absolute beginner to the technique but here you don’t need any skills, just simple connection via usb cable to your laptop and that’s it. Hope you will enjoy the product same as I do.

Great set

A microphone with a low noise level. A sound card with an easy connection to any device, be it Mac OS or Windows. I definitely advise for those who have decided to make a home studio.

Worth it!

I've been using this bundle for 3 years in all my voice over work and trainings.

Great quality for the price.

ASIO very unstable!

As such the hardware quality of the package is fine, and the microphone sounds O.K., handling was fine, arrived in no time, in fine condition. BUT the interface / driver is very unstable with the latest driver. I'm on Windows 10, with latest AI-1 firmware (from 2018!) and ASIO driver, and it is CRAP: I often hear "bit buffer noise", the samplerate adaption from DAW hosts is non existent and connection/stability seem to be dropping in and out. Their support (RØDE) is not answering and I don't know what to do. I tried different hosts with various ASIO settings and also tried ASIO4ALL as wrapper. Its no good. Don't buy this.

Love it!

I've been using it for 2 years now for streaming and for vocal recordings and I have no better way to describe this kit but by saying that I Love It!

The sounds is crisp, nice and does not give unwanted pitch corrections while speaking or while recording vocals like other mics that I had tended to do.

I had some issues when I first got it, were I was getting robotic feedback in my headphones, but with a quick firmware update the issue was gone.

Pros

Neutral frequency, easy to set-up and use, the built in monitoring system is always spot on, whole kit looks hella cool XD

Cons

I'm having trouble finding a mic screen that goes with it, given the size of the shock mount, but I think that's more of a "me" problem, because I overthink things. I didn't actually buy a mic screen yet to test it out, I just figured that the size of the shock mount is larger than your usual shock mount and that got me thinking.

Does not come with a headphone jack adapter from 3,5 mm to 6,3 mm so make sure to order an adapter as well when you buy this kit.

The cable that connects the interface with your pc/laptop is kinda short. The way I have my computer positioned in my work area is making it hard for me to have the interface handy, because of this short cable.

Perfect!!

I ordered products from Turkey arrived in a very short time shipping, packaging was very strong.

It makes you feel the product quality as material and feel.

Shopping from Thooman is seriously seamless and the system works very well.

Thanks.

An Amazing kit for home-studio-voice-overs

This is a very quite microphone. You will hear a pin drop without any white noise.

The Frequency response of this microphone is as flat and neutral as it can be. Your voice will sound incredibly clear and comfortable to listen to on the long term.

I myself have a deeper/raspier voice then the average person, and because of this flat tone the microphone has it sounds very smooth and natural by default.

As for the SMR shock-mount and the included all-metal pop-filter..

- The shock-mount has a steady built that absorbs most of the bumps, taps and low-frequency resonances (Like a heavy truck passing by).

- The pop filter actually saved the microphone more then once in some of my more intense recordings. I am a voice-actor who sometimes needs to scream and yell in the microphone and with that comes... A lot of spit.. I know very gross... BUT THAT SAID, the pop filter caught all of that in it's double layered construction and not a single drop came through to destroy the diaphragm.

The Ai-1 Interface looks quite standard with only 2 knobs; One for the Gain and the other for the Audio playback level with 6mm Jack headphones. But the build quality is something else.

It draws the 48v phantom that some microphones need to function, without an extra power supply through a single USB-C to USB-A cable from your computer/laptop. There is an incredibly low amount of self noise on this USB interface. ONLY when I boosted it to 90% GAIN with no microphone attached, did it become noticeable.

A perfect studio kit

I use this recording kit when i record vocals, the vocals sounds very crisp and its relatively cheap for the quality of the products you get, i have no cons about this product in all honesty, you get what you pay for as they say, obviously it can be better quality but this is the best for the cheaper price range.
