Superb!
Extremely solid (and quite heavy =) professional device. I recommend.
Fault On The Unit On First Switch On
From straight out of the box the unit was found to be faulty. The appears to be a problem with a short circuit between buttons 3 and 4; pressing button 3 switches on button 4 on standard and patch mode, and switches them both on in Ctrl mode. This is very disappointing for such a highly renowned product, and I have been let down as I needed the unit for professional work.
The best thing for a boss gt-pro
I've purchased this to control my Boss Gt-Pro effects processor, and its perfect for this. You need a midi lead to plug it in, and also a power adapter (both are sold separately), and although these two units are nothing to do with one another, they look like they were made to match each other. Both have the same silver colour, and yellow light up lettering display, and work together great, though its a shame that the name of each patch doesn't appear on the little screen on the floor unit, just its number, you can re-type the name of each patch in manually, but if you decide to change any patches in the processor, you need to re-name them on the floor unit thing separately to match, and this is a bit of a drag. Ultimately, I've found it hassle having a rack mounted effects unit, AND a full sized floor processor thing to lug around, I can't help feeling that if I'd gone with just the floor processor?, it'd be one less unit to set up and pack away every time, I've basically wound up paying £1000 for a Boss Gt-8 that just looks slightly more cool, than a regular Boss Gt-8, costing £300, and I've got one more thing to set up and pack away man. If I could do it all over?, I'd buy the Gt-8 instead of this one, and get the best of both worlds, its the same effexts processor inside for the best part.
