Roland GKC-5
Connector cable

Original Cable
I have not unpacked this yet; it is bought as a spare. I would hate for my guitar synth to be out of action. So, what's to get excited about? Well, it is a direct and official replacement cable. You know it will work and work well straight out the pack. Of course, no cable, especially a complex and delicate 13 pin job will last forever if used in the studio every day, or on stage. So having a spare is a smart move. Gotta love Roland gear.
Original
Original cable, works perfectly!
expensive but necessary part of the guitar midi setup
too bad it is sold separately and costs so much, but well, part of the roland midi guitar experience, which allows me to play effectively without ghost notes nor latency.
Perfect cable. Perfect sending.
Excellent cable
This cable is still made in Japan by Roland. Handle this cable with care when taken on the road as due to the many pins it is more sensitive than ordinary cables.
High-quality cable
A good cable all around. My only wish is that Roland would make a three-meter version. Sometimes the extra length gets in the way on a small stage.
in the total its ok but it costs too much for a cable
in the total its ok but it costs too much for a cable
if you press it with your feet by mistake many times...it will start cracking the sound ....i prefer the 3 m cable but they dont produce it anymore......
Roland must change the jack into metal .
and reduce the cost..........too many for just a cable
Great quality
Great quality.. perfect sound
but really easy to brake the plugs.. keep it in a separate little case or a plastic cover
Compulsive purchase if you use the roland GK pickups/synths.
I think it's funny it does not come with the GR55 synthesizer and you have to buy it apart.
There is no other way out, you need this cable.
I'm writing reviews on Vovox cables and after having one of them all other cables feel flimsy but this one from Roland goes beyond, for such an specific connector you wish they'd come up with a better result and presentation.
I like my cables neatly coiled over-under and tied, but this one comes folded in an 8 shape, the outer rubber feels cheap, the connector pins are very thin so I'd rather be extra careful when plugging in.
All in all it seems like Roland wants you to buy a lot of cables in the long run, and it's probably wise to have always a spare one.
Overpriced but necessary
It's an unusual cable which is necessary for the Boss/Roland midi systems so you're stuck paying way too much for what amounts to a pretty mediocre cable. The build quality is good, but not great - it's stiff and the end plugs are plastic which means you need to baby it or you're going to be buying yet another one soon.
