I have just started using this with my Roland kit in a large Christmas show. It really is good, and comparable to the the much more expensive Porter and Davis BC system. It has adjustable volume and low pass filter so you can set it to your liking. The quality of the product is nice, and what you would expect from a Pearl collaboration. Basically it really gives you the feel of the music, and some how it does actually help the bass freq become louder in the ears. One great benefit of this type if system is that it stops you feeling you need to hit the bass drum so hard and so helps add fitness to playing, plus you are less likely to cause yourself an injury from over working you foot/leg joints. Damn thing so good I ordered another! For this price I wasnt expecting much, but love this thing to bits. The tone controls are a bit weird & seem to interact with each other. Initially I thought the thing was crap, but after I realised how the controls worked I managed to dial in a great tone. Only slight issue is the on/off switch, which is a soft control & tends to switch off after a period of disuse. Good thing I suppose, but keeps catching me out.

I usually use headphones when I'm rehearsing at home with a backing track but all my wife could hear was banging. So, I bought this monitor so she could hear my rehearsals in context to the song. When it arrived it was lighter than I expected. It was simple to get started. A two pin power cable, two 1/4" jacks (L & R or mono) and a 1/8" audio input. The sound is dissappointing at first. It took me a while to adjust the balance between my Drum brain, audio in and woofer control on the PM-03. I've had for a week now and I am happy with it. If you are looking for a monitor for gigs look elsewhere. This is a good bedroom monitor only.
