Voice wrangling

A great selection of sounds to play with. Easy, intuitive controls. The manual explains more in-depth functions. It works only on batteries, which is fine but a mains option would have been useful too. Especially when supplying phantom power to a mic. But all in all, a fun gadget and the easiest one to use straight away.

Very funny, did laugh

Pretty good voice changer though it has it's limits, it's funny everytime.

Seems to not want to work as well in calls on discord, no clue why. Works fine as just an audio unit too.

Distinctive "Roland" Sound

Great sounding unit, but some features are limited by the user interface and MIDI implementation.

Great fun

Very hands on and even more features than it seems at first sight. Sound-wise maybe not quite on the same level as more specialized (and expensive) gear or high quality plugins, but good enough for jamming and lots of fun to use.

A GREAT TOY FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL VOCALIST :)

A really nice piece of kit for the vocalist who is happy to experiment,

It can be a little difficult to understand all of its capabilities but, with a multitude of youtube, instructional videos to choose from you'll soon be singing and playing with the features (some hidden) of the Roland VT-4 to your heart's content. good value for money and really well made.

Great vocal processor!

Great vocal processor! Really nice features both on the lid and under the hood ... also can function as an audio interface. Overall the quality of the fx are really nice , especially the harmonics! highly recommended!

That's the value

Have been looking for a vocal box and obviously there are quite a few to choose from. In this price range it VT-4 offers a good value: harmony works well, pitch correction is fine, and wet/dry control allows you to find your own favorite mix. Features are simple (I find it positive), and easy to control. The only question mark is the box itself - it's very light and somehow I'm always worried if the plastic is not going to break/crack. Maybe I'm just to much used to BOSS sturdy design for guitar boxes but VT-4 feels fragile.

More fun than it should be!

I got the Roland VT-4 to modify my voice for gaming and streaming, etc. Not exactly the usual profile of eclectic musician of vocal artist.

When I got it, I was a little surprised that it is so light with a plastic body. From all the pictures I was expecting the usual metal construction of every little black box I've ever used. But it's bit not a bad thing - the quality is impressive, it's really well put together, if not as sturdy as I had pictured in my mind.

The instruction booklet - this is important - DO NOT THROW AWAY THE INSTRUCTIONS! You will need them, for setup and for using the machine, as there are so many options hidden in menus and no screen or computer access to allow you to see clearly what each setting is. The manual is available online, of course, but I made a laminated cheat sheet to have with the VT-4 at all times.

Getting the VT-4 to connect right to computer audio was a hassle, because there are three inputs and three outs to choose from. For Discord, you'll want WET in and OUT out.
