If you want bass you've got it!

I've a preference for Rotosound's for my basses. But never used these before. Bought them originally to fit my new HB PJ electric, but decided to try them out on my HB fretless acoustic which already had Rotosound Jazz flats on it. They fitted on perfectly without any hassle modifying the bridge or nut as I've read folk have had to with some nylon wound strings . And WOW! What a difference. Really does get that stand-up bass sound esp. on the lower tones and notes! An they're sooooo smooth to play and perfect for the fretless. Only thing is I'll need to buy another set for my electric now, as I like them so much! Price-wise they're probably the cheapest on the market too!

Great, if you’re looking for that vintage tone!

Black strings look great. These ones has a deep and boomy tone. Suits hollowbody basses and P-basses great. Please notice that you may need to expand the nut slots on your bass, to make the strings fit right!

A universal truth..

Nothing beats these fabulous flats, I've used them for over 40 years, and I'll use them till I'm older and greyer than I already am...I can't say anything more than that...

Upright tone for electric bass

These strings must be the closest I'll ever get to an upright tone on my JB-40FL. Very deep, woody sound while still retaining some sustain.

Unlike the LaBella black nylon tapewounds with their plastic-like smooth feel, these strings almost feel like they're covered in very finely woven cloth. I hope this doesn't compromise longevity.

Unfortunately the A-string is more dark grey than black like the others.

Colour difference aside, I like the tone and the texture is probably the best for fretless 'fretboard' wear.

It feels strange

Great quality, stunning to look at, nice tactile feel, but that sound isn't for me. Bought it just to try it out.

Great jazz strings

Just bought my second set of these strings after 13 years! They don’t wear out because they start off dull, I put the new ones on and they sound almost identical. If anything the 13 year old strings sound better! Only reason I replaced them was the tape on the e string started unwinding. I use them on a fretless acoustic. They’re nice and smooth and have a great tone for jazz

Never buy this one for your Hofner bass

I never had a short-scale bass before and just bought these along with my Hofner. Here I am, more than one month after buying trying to change the strings, and have discovered that it's impossible to fit these strings on a Hofner bass. I'm pretty sure that there are no engineers working there because this is one of the worst designs that I have seen. Be aware of this and you will be a happy man, not one that wasted 40 euros on a set of strings that won't fit :)

I bought rotosound black nylon to try it at a semiacustic bass, which have some cheap round wound.

The sound was very good, almost a contrabass, wich was I was looking for.
