Zultan 17" Q Crash
Based on 5 reviews
Bought this crash after having previously bought one of Zultan's aja series china's, admittedly not expecting wonders from the price but i was blown away by the sound and build of the china, after intending to buy a similar crash from the byzance range from Meinl i decided to give this crash a chance instead and again blown away by the sound, had my first tracking session with it yesterday and it sounds fantastic fits right in with the rest of my set up (predominantly Sabian AAX) with just the right amount of grit wanted from a dark crash! Dont let the price tag fool you!
Paiste 17" Signature Full Crash
Based on 3 reviews
I am a busy professional drummer playing in a variety of musical situations i have over 30 years studio and touring experience so i demand high quality and reliability from the instruments i use. I first used the 17 full crash as part of a Thin Lizzy tribute show so it was put through its paces in a hard rocking full on show. The shear musicality of the cymbal shone through even in the loudest parts of the show. It shimmered beautifully for the many crescendos and cut through the wailing twin guitars when power was needed. It was part of a 14,16,17 set up all Paiste full crashes so it was the biggest cymbal in the pack. It delivered every time and it was just such a joy to play. It also looked the part very beautiful under lights. Other drummers in the audience commented on how musical...
Zultan 17" Crash Dark Matter
Based on 1 reviews
This crash compliments the 16" crash beautiful. The sound has remained consistent; clean, cuts through and gets itself back out of the way right when you want it to. Build quality seems good (so far I have used this through this years festival season with no issues) as does its versatility. The only thing its cannot really do for me is act as a crash I can ride on and that is simply down to personal taste, I dont like the frequency and overtone development on it......but that just means more cymbals :D
Istanbul Mehmet 17" Black Bell Crash
Based on 1 reviews
This Mehmet sound is very crisp but not too high or long, just enough what you need between fills. It moves after hits pretty short on the vertical and it has that higher end cool vibration, such as Sabian or Zildjian. Actually you can go with this model and not spending too much. The main advantage is that you can use it as a ride cymbal too which is great advantage if you want to change the sound in the choruses. I have an 18'' Turk Istanbul ride which sounds as a Meinl but with half the price. Buy now there are no cons. Will definitely stick to the line and buy some stacks and splashes.
Meinl 17"Byzance J.Medium Thin Crash
Based on 1 reviews
Spent good few months trying to find that colourful crash to compliment my 19" Byzance Crash and this just couldn't speak to it any more beautifully both in the studio and at live shows. Opens up gorgeously with a subtle warmth and wonderful overtones. Quite light for a medium thin so it doesn't affect your stick movement as most drummers worry about that. 100% happy with it and have been using it for lighter rock applications and a lot of metal. It loves both and really does cut through any mix when stricken harder! Looks beautiful as a whole and would recommend it for ANY style of playing and genre as it's so versatile. Love it.
Meinl 17" Byzance Medium Thin Crash
Based on 1 reviews
Meinl's Byzance Traditional finish cymbals are handmade in Turkey using the traditional B20 bronze alloy. The profile of the cymbal is hand-hammered into shape. They are also lathed by hand. All this handwork goes into making a true musical instrument. These crash cymbals have a nice dark character with an explosive attack and a long decay. Good for Latin, jazz, rock, pop and country . . . a good all around cymbal. The Byzance range is the top end B20 bronze cymbal from Meinl. Manufacture is a combination of modern machine casting, lathing and finishing with a sprinkling of hand hammering by master cymbal smiths to coax the best from the materials. The 17? Medium thin crashes are dark and complex they surprisingly work well at both low or high volume a rare characteristic in many cymbals...
Zultan 17" Aja Crash
Based on 15 reviews
I've tried the 16" and 17" crashes and the 10" splash from the Zultan Aja series and I must say that I've got close to no complaints considering their price. The sound is not as refined as the expensive series from the reknown brands like Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste etc, but you can get these at a fraction of the price. The price might make you think otherwise, but they can hold their own in a live or recording setting since they sound like actual cymbals and nothing like the cheap brass entry series and probably better than most of the cheap bronze series as well. Now in particular about this 17" crash, I would say that it's not the loudest 17" out there, but it can get pretty loud and it can handle heavy music. It is slightly clangy when you listen to it by...
Zultan 17" Caz Crash
Based on 10 reviews
- Beautiful sounding - Hand hammered - Made in turkey This cymbal is not a cheap one, this is a high quality one. I don't understand why it costs 1/3 compared to others with the same quality. The sound is high pitched, full of sweet harmonics, but still warm. I find it really versatile, from jazz to classic rock, just perfect indie like music (I wouldn't use them for metal). I bought together the Caz 20'' ride and the Caz 19'' crash/ride, and together with the ride, it's my favourite cymbal so far. Zultan is incredible, I recommend them to everyone
Zultan 17" Rock Beat Crash
Based on 7 reviews
Got this crash after being impressed with the 21" Q series ride from Zultan, and I wanted to try more of their cymbals. As always, taste is very subjective with cymbals, but I think this pool is slightly deep in tone for a 17", but nonetheless, it sounds great. Quite loud, plenty of brightish overtones and a good sustain, which so far, have served well in cutting through heavy guitars at practice. The cymbal is thinner than I expected and it has quite a lot of wobble to it, so I'm cautious and dont hit it as hard as I could when constantly crashing on it, but despite this, it still produces plenty of noise. I'd recommend this cymbal to anyone who's looking for a decent all round crash at a great price!
Zildjian 17" K-Series Dark Crash Medium
Based on 3 reviews
I think anyone looking to buy any of the K series cymbals will know they are paying for top quality sound and quality. It takes a tuned ear to hear the quality in top of the range cymbals and those musicians will truly appreciate the value in this investment, however if you are a beginner or intermediate drummer your best purchase would be a mid range cymbal pack. The danger of buying anything in the K series before you have developed your ear is the potential to overplay or incorrectly hit your brass and as a result you can end up with a big nasty crack in your beautiful dark crash. For those that hear the difference this is a beautiful and well named cymbal. Top quality
