I have been playing a bog standard LTD 350 (terrible pickups - I swapped them out for the Het set) for the last few years mainly because I couldn't justify spending big on a guitar because I was building a house. Now that I am living in the house I have some disposable € to upgrade my studio and my guitars.

I wanted to get a decent ST type guitar that i can shred on and after an awful lot of research I took the plunge and bought this beautiful guitar. It arrived last night and I honestly couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I spent a couple of hours jamming on it and it took a little bit of getting used to because obviously it feels and plays a lot differently then the 350.

Its an absolute snarling animal of a shredder. The thin neck is great, makes it easier to play. The stainless frets are much higher then my cheap guitar and its effortless to hit a note with your fingers barely having to put pressure on the string.

I wasn't very sure about the Fishman Fluence bridge pick up but i have to say it is insanely good on lead and rhythm playing. It has a push-pull knob and there are 2 different voices on the pick up. I will have to adjust my Kemper profiles to accommodate for this guitar as there was noticeable clipping going on when i plugged in.

There is brilliant natural sustain probably due to the unusual swamp ash top on the guitar. However with the sustainiac pickup engaged its at a different level altogether! It just doesn't ever stop! Madness! Also you can feel the vibration of the strings through the whammy bar with the sustaniac engaged and it just feels like a powerful beast in your hands.

This is a top top guitar for anyone looking for something slightly different but insanely good. It plays brilliantly and sounds beautiful.

I thought I would need a Les Paul as well but really this is perfect for both lead and rhythm playing so I am actually saving a couple of grand by not having to buy a Gibson as well.. At least that's what I told my wife anyways!
