Paiste 12" Signature Combo Crisp Hat
Based on 2 reviews
These Stewart Copeland signature hi-hats are based on Stewart's prototype hi-hats that he's used since around 2007. This set is basically the 12" Signature Micro Hat bottom cymbal and the 12" Twenty series hi-hat bottom cymbal used on the top (B20 alloy). They are reasonably heavy in weight and have good volume. Played closed, they have an extremely tight sound. Played open, they have a lovely sizzling, bright and full sound - unlike anything I have heard before. I usually find 12" hats too lightweight for rock music but these would be very suitable due to their weight, projection and slightly lower pitch. Paiste produce the best cymbals I have ever heard and these are highly recommended among their outstanding range of hi-hats.
Zultan 12" Hi-Hat Medium Dark Matter
Based on 2 reviews
Bought these for a suitcase kit. Has a really nice dark sound without being too sharp which is just what I wanted. The only downside for me is that it's hard to get a good sizzle out of it versus my usual hi hats but otherwise they're great for a small set up.
