feels solid & nice weight in the hand

I bought this E835 S to replace my last one, which i had for years.

I didn't replace it cause anything went wrong, but because it went 'missing'.

i went for the same again because i totally rate it & it never let me down before.

I use it mainly for vocals, live & studio, & I've used it to good effect to mic up guitar amps when short of mic options.

It is often compared to the Shure SM58 equivalent, & it divides opinion, but to my ear i prefer the E835.

trying both alongside each other i found that the E835 needed less gain/volume, & overall had better clarity of tone.

on saying that, the singer of the band i was working for, didn't like it, & preferred to use the SM58, so i guess you should compare.

it has a rugged build & a great sound reproduction.

i can't think of anything negative to say about this mic

i would definitely recommend this mike to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive dynamic mic.

this mic is brilliant replaced a.shure. SM58 side by side sound test the SM58 was retired for a spare mic.. this took its place a much better mic all round plus it has a on off switch which is handy more power less feedback better clarity on the bass and treble what more do you need ...note ive..used the shure mics for years this one is miles ahead

Very good for the price.

This is a good general purpose microphone. I have several Sennheiser microphones, some others are super cardiod or slightly wider frequency range. This one is a good balance of quality and price. All Sennheisers are well built.

Sennheiser E835 S

I bought this mic to use for both singing and variuos instruments. It has a nice "crispy" sound. Compared to a Shure SM58 it has a little detail and is a little more sensitive. No big difference imo. I choose this product over the Sure because it is more cost effective.

Good stage microphone

I find this microphone as good alternative to sm58, or beta58. While sm58 is a winner for rock gigs, and hard stuf, e835 proved as more suitable for more opened vocals in softer generes, as they have more top end, and are not so brutal in lo-mid range as SM series from Shure. Good to have them both in your PA bag ready to go!

Solid, durable workhorse

Cheaper than the SM57/58, requires a little less gain, gets similar results. I've gotten great results recording guitar amps, snare and cajon. They also work fine on stage for vocals, snare etc. Durable, too. Mine have been dropped, knocked, hit, spit and stood on, and they work perfectly. The on/off switch comes in handy sometimes, too (I use one of these as a talkback mic in my small recording studio, it's handy to be able to switch it off when the client is recording a take). If this is the sort of mic you're looking for, it'll probably do the job.

Very impressed

I bought this solely to be used as an announcement microphone. The on/off switch is very useful for announcers.

The switch is very quiet with little or no "pop."

Great clear sound with surprisingly good low end. Very good value.
