First of all the handle of the microphone is very convinient. Easy to hold and change the position based on the who is talking. Just fit into a normal palm. Weight is absolutely at the middle. It is not seems cheap and easy chineese one, but not that heavy your hand come off. The frequency response is shout to normal human speetch but if there is an interviewee who has a pretty low voice it can describe that very well, too. Main strengh of this mic is the upper frequency region around 2 kHz, of course and it make to the mic a crystal clear intelligibility. We're using it in a local net radio for making general interview in different circuimstances but it's worked everywhere. We are very satisfied with it. But we took a long to find out what the hell is that plate on the top of that for....

This is my go-to interview microphone. It uses phantom power or an AA battery, I always use an AA as it saves my recorder's battery life. I have predominately used on location (indoors) in people's houses, living rooms and in some work environments (public buildings) Here are the best points about this item 1. Small and light, easy to hand-hold without undue handling noise. 2. Very sturdy and well-made 3. Sensitive, with little hiss 4. Dual power options I find I turn to it whenever I have a fairly quiet interview space. One minor work of warning, without the low-cut filter (on the handle) engaged it is very sensitive to handling and extraneous sounds. The iXm os an excellent, sturdy microphone. Chargeable, no battery hassle. Excellent sound quality, no need for the more expensive Beyerdynamic Capsules. Only caveat: no VUMeter or screen with recording time countdown.
