Used for switching

I use these for switching light loads like incandescent moving heads and LED gobo projectors. If the load is not high enough (like with the gobos) and there is flickering, you will need to open and cut the snubber resistor nearest to the chokes. Easy job that fixes the problem, else you could add a Dummy Load of 10W or so.

The units are easy to use and easy to program/ setup.

Flexible, lightweight, compliant if not forgiving!

The selling point of this particular "brick" is the ability to patch each channel individually rather than just the starting one. Add nuts to hook it to your truss, dmx input that gracefully accepts dmx in from the dmx out plug (don't ask, thank you, I can explain) and you have an excellent product that's more flexible than the others out there.

Great

Great product ! Only a very small noise from the unit.

Its a brick. And it makes light.

This nice little unit is packed with features that i wouldn't normally expect on a 4 channel dimmer pack. It doesn't buzz, fades smoothly and seems solidly made.

The only setback is the physical design - 2 sockets per side, small handle on top and cables at the bottom. Its pretty chunky and not easy to hide away in a small space. The power cable could have been placed in a more convenient part of the brick.

I'm setting up a little dance studio and will probably buy another of these so I can have 4 channels per side of the room.

Worth every penny

We bought 6 of these a few years back. We use them in our theater for every now and then. I like them because they are light, easy to tug away and no nonsense. No more heavy cables to pull around. You bring the dimmer to the bulb. Last week one broke down so now I'm ordering the same again. For this price...

Downsides: when the bulb breaks, it usually takes out the fuse as well so you need to get up to the truss to replace. It also doesn't filter out voltage jumps, but you could hardly expect that in this price range.

So: for pro's? No. For an occasional user who is budget minded and likes to be flexible in his setup: definitely yes.
