Great reliable Shure quality

Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend, took it to rehearsals etc. and honestly can't tell the difference between this and an SM58, maybe this one is less durable? Couldn't tell you as I haven't subjected this one to any stress or durability tests or mishandled it, but it seems to be all there in terms of Shure quality, reliability & sound and would definitely recommend it if you want a 58 but don't quite have the cash

Excellent backup

I use this microphone as a backup to when I don't have an '58 available or in situations where I know that a drunk customer will drop the mics.

Makes them extremely useful for karaoke sets or low budget performances.

I find very little difference between this mic & the 58.

Incredible quality for such a low price

i've bought this microphone and after a couple of months using it, i can say that the quality surprises me for the price. For singing or capturing a guitar amp, it always sounds great.

good mike

As an amateur musician I use Shure SM 48 LC as a simple way to record vocals on my tracks. I know that there are much better mics (e.g. not dynamic ones) for this purpose but for me is enough. Plus, it is really robust and I am not afraid to put it in somebody elses hands.

Fair price for good mic. Definetly would recommend buying.

Great value for money

Great sounding vocal mic. Nice and rugged and nice feeling product

Very little sound difference between this and an SM58

Only down side is the pop shield is slightly more flimsy, so may not survive as long as a BETA58 on tour, but for venue use they are great value for money.

Not just a poor mans 58!!!

I found one of these lying around at a venue I was engineering in, had never heard of an SM48 before. Used it out of curiosity alongside SM58s for the gig and I preferred the SM48 by a long way, so decided to buy one. I cant believe how much cheaper they are than 58's.. They sound similar to a 58, about the same output level, but many will find the 48 to give a more flattering vocal sound. Great feedback rejection too.

Shure SM 48 LC

Great little mic, as to be expected by Shure. Have the SM 58 as well, but this mic is well able to hold its own. Great sound and great volume. Great buy for a great price. Recommend to anyone who hasn't got the cash to buy the SM 58 or who doesn't need an expensive mic.
