Snark ST-2 Tuner Reviews
As advertised
Great tuner/metronome! Multiple tunings settings. Bright visible display. Accurate and easy to use. Popular for a good reason!
Excellent tuner
It does tuning and it does it good, precise and fast. Works well with my electric guitar, acoustic guitar and electric bass. Everything you need from a tuner. Also has a visual metronome I will probably never use but as a tuner I do recommend it.
Precission all the way
Very acurate ande asy to use clip-on tuner. Good visibility of the display and lightweight.
Poor tuning when its loud
I m bouzouki player and when the live is on sometimes i need to tune while the other musician playing, so the music is very loun on stage and this tuner is really not good accurate
good tuner very accurate and no problems with shipping
Default 440
So far nice tuner to use, but it was set on 440 by default, so have to change that setting every single time when I use (to 442 or 443)
Snark Tuner
Great tuner, fairly accurate for getting into tune quickly. Compact and convienient.
A must have i think
This tuner is easy to use and very responsive. I don't regret replacing my old cheaper tuner with this one even though people have been making jokes about how it says "super tight" :P.
Great tuner
This is always my go to tuner for guitar and bass,
only flaw is the plastic connecting the tuner to the clip breaks very easily
Lives up to the Reputation
Having used several different clip tuners over the years, I can comfortably say that this one has been the most consistent out of all of them. I'm constantly around other musicians on the road, and I can't go too far without spotting this little guy in someone's gear.
It doesn't matter which instrument I've used it on (banjo/mandolin/6, 7, or 8-string guitars/bass), it's always consistent. I also find the display to be more visually pleasing compared to its competitors'.
Pros:
- Great accuracy in pitch
- Can be manipulated into nearly any position for comfortable use
- Fair price
Cons:
- Slightly less durable than others (but still good)
- Lack of color selection (can stick out on stage)
- Sometimes lags/doesn't register immediately with lower tunings
All in all a good product with a reasonable price.
The pioneer is the King
I heard it was the first clip tuner, many Youtubers use and recommend Snark Tuners.
I bought one to try, the quality is great, the screen has a very nice brightness and resolution and it helps me tune perfect my Epiphone Exlorer, my Epiphone Thunderbird bass, a Yamaha acoustic and a Takamine 12-string i use.
It fits all of them great and tracks even my detuned bass.
The metronome is a plus but with only visual representation it is a bit limited.
The mic function instead of the clip is a great plus though and works perfectly.
Overall it's THE clip tuner to get.
Price is just icing on this beautiful cake.
Best one out there
I've been using this tuner for a few months now and I can say I'm rather pleased :) I was contemplating whether to get a pedal tuner or basic headstock tuner but I'm glad I got this one. I can tune all of my instruments with this one (I own quite a few acoustic guitars without built in electronics)
Quality is excellent and tuning capabilties are rather precise. Tuner is small - I keep it on my headstock at all times and so far it hasn't fallen off. I'm glad I decided to get this tuner.
I'd recommend it for anybody in need of a good tuner.
A simple and easy to use clip on tuner. Works well, does it job. Can't complain.
Great tuner
This tuner is really great. Fast and accurate and the built-in metronome is a cool thing when you need it on a rehersal. Only minus is that it's sometimes slow with low B string on 5 string bass
Quality tuner
First time I have had a clip on tuner. It is really simple to use and keeps the guitar in tune perfectly. As it works on vibration you can use this while plugged in to an amp on stage which is really useful. Big easy to read display, I would recommend every one has at least one of these.
The best, or thereabouts!
Perhaps the best little clip-on tuner money can buy, in terms of accuracy, speed, stability of the tuning indication, sensitivity to the instrument it is clipped onto (btw has both vibration contact sensor AND microphone), clarity & visibility of the tuning display, and also features - it includes an often useful metronome, does flat tuning, and the reference A frequency can be calibrated lower and/or higher than other tuners go (including the much discussed 432Hz, which most other tuners don't do)!
Minuses?
Well it is small and therefore plasticky so the little function buttons at the back can be finnicky and don't exactly feel like high-end gear.
But then again, it costs less than a round of beers with your friends, and works great, so nothing to complain about, really!
Great clip-on tuner!
The tuner is pretty darn great. Has great touch feeling, plenty of features, screen is bright and it's easy to see what's being displayed.
Packaging was pretty nice too - tuner is packaged in the usual cardboard box, but it also comes with a manual and carrying bag.
Regarding tuning accuracy - haven't used it for something lower than drop B, but it works very well at that range.
accurate tuner
very accurate tuner, easy to use, I like the fact that you can choose between vibration and microphone. My daughter often uses it for her violoncello, I use it for my guitar and bass. And it works great on all our instruments
Ever since I bought this tuner I have never had a reason to buy another. Tunes your guitar dead-on, works well if you are a stickler for intonation like me and the adjustability is awesome. And you'll have no problem reading the screen.. clear as day.
Poor
Battery came almost depleted and was dead within a few hours of use. And the tuning accuracy is very poor on vibration mode, especially for the bass strings.
