I know this plugin since the early days of DAW and it is still a goto in many situations. Try it! Buy it!

Great for mastering and enhancing individual sounds

Great tool for squeezing just a bit more perceived loudness from your track.

For sound design and individual sounds you can go crazy, just experiment with "effect" and "curve" sliders for interesting results.

On the other hand for mastering usually less is really more.

One thing that I personally miss on this plugin is a bit more complexity, more options to tweak and generally take more control of the given effect.

Definitely a great tool, using it on almost every master, usually in 20-30% range. Feel free to experiment and be creative!

I own the Sony DMX r100 " Baby Oxford " 48 channel desk with the built in Oxford dynamics and EQ so I have a soft spot for them. All Sonnox's plugins are top notch and very straightforward to use with instant results. The inflator uses analogue like saturation to punch up a mix or track without colouring unless that's what you want. Brilliant.

Special sauce for mastering!

This is truly special for that final loudness push of the mix. I am a hobbyist and amateur, producing, mixing and mastering my own music. The Inflator has became a standard part of my mastering chain and sometimes a like what it does on the drum bus too.

If you are expecting something that can just be slapped on a master bus and the track is instantly 50% better, then this is not for you. If you are willing to learn how it works, it will pay off very well.

I recommend reading the manual first because this is not a typical saturator or limiter, this thing has it's own algorithms which seem to be quite unique. That's why the controls are also quite unique. Great plugin, highly recommended!

Great for subtle processing

Took me a while to find the sweet spots, but very handy for pushing things to the front of a mix, or for adding density to the mix. A classic plugin.
