I got this with the 2up2down kit and I love it! I prefer a pretty fat sound although without a ton of ring and it was super easy to get that, I use a clear remo emperor on the batter side and the stock head on the reso and it was a breeze to tune (im usually pretty bad at tuning too). The hardware is superb quality and feels totally rock solid and the shells themselves are just amazing, top all that off with an awesome finish and it's a great kit for a great price. I was skeptical of going with drumcraft as they're relatively new and don't yet have the years of reputation to back them up but I'm so glad I did in the end. I got a high end kit for the price of an intermediate kit and I love it. And I know this sounds like an advertisement but I'm just a normal...

Awesome Sonor Vintage sound! Beech with 45 degree edges is just something different. Purchased it as an add-on to my 20-12-16 config. Great addition! It typically sits next to the 12" in my setup. In a 1-up 1-down config I sometimes prefer it to the 12" one depending on the musical situation.

Unreal that this inexpensive tom (and one matching 4-pc Gretsch Catalina bop drum kit) stands up well to my most expensive high end kits. The hardware may be a little light, but the shells produce an unbelievably warm, deep and consistent resonating tone. Easy to tune an fun to play. I’m floored by these drums - so underrated yet so amazing at such a great price.

A perfect add on for my catalina kit that came with only 2 toms. fits right in as if its always been there. You'll need a double tom holder though if using it as did as an add on to your set up. I kept the single holder rather than replacing it with a double and just added a tom clamp which works fine and looks good. perfect colour match. perfect sound match. well pleased!

Overall this is a really good tom expansion for my practice kit. Can't say much about how it sounds as I've put on a silent mesh head. However, having said that there is one major problem I have with the tom. The tom arm mounting. Unlike the old Pearl Export 8" tom I have from 15 odd years ago which came with the ISS tom mount, the one that comes with Export toms these days causes the two lugnuts that hold it in place to come loose a lot more frequently. So instead of the vibrations from the tom travelling through the rim, into the tom arm as with the ISS mount, the vibrations are travelling through the rim into lugnuts holding the mount and then the tom arm. So you'll have to be tuning the tom every, single, time you sit down and play. If you want it to hold it's tuning better,...

I bought this one as an addition to my rock configuration Crystal Beat. The sound on the crystal beat's is great. Loud and punchy. But what's disappointing for me is the quality of the lugs and hoops pearl put on this drums. I would prefer the superhoop 2 hoop and at least the session style lugs. Great look, great sound, disappointing shell hardware.
