An amazing sound and material. You can use this snare for all music. It is perfect for jazz, funk, pop, rock music........... I am happy that I have that snare in my drum family

I took it out of the box and started to play it without any need of adjusting the tuning. Amazing sensitivity and definition, warm and fat sound, a beautiful overtone. The range of sounds one can get from this snare is so vast that it can fit any music genre. I also have a Ludwig Black Magic, which is a great snare drum, but since I received the Sonor AS 12, two months ago, the Ludwig has been resting. The Dual Glide snare strainer has the smoothest operation I?ve ever seen. What else could you ask? That it also looks gorgeous? It does and no photographs can do justice to the beauty of the real thing.

very good sound

Its sound is very warm, and sensitive.

I recommend to be tighter for overtone.

Due to the maple shell, its sound is very comfortable, and warm.

AWESOME DRUM

This is amazing snare drum, one of my favorite snares. Excellent quality. Easy to tune. Beautiful finish! This snare have a deep warm tone in low tuning, and pretty high and tight in high tuning. This drum works for ANY situation, and it sounds incredible in different types of music. Awesome product.
