A filthy rock & roll monster!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I bought it as a backup for my PRS Vela. Now I think it's my main guitar just of the pure filth this guitar can produce! The bridge position bypasses the tone knob and give you a bit stronger and clearer signal. You can't hear the difference on Youtube videos, but you'll notice it in person. Put some gain on it and it will roar like a monster! Also, it's wonderfully packaged, the set-up was okay, needed some neck adjustment (keep in mind that action out of the box is quite high (I personally prefer higher action, but I know that most don't), the strings are really bad, but I feel that most of us change the strings on new guitars almost immediately. Other than that, it's a fantastic guitar!

Bags of Character, Beautifully Set-up and Shines with Class

My very first Esquire just arrived. I am impressed and delighted with it. The guitar came extremely well packaged and in perfect condition.

The first thing I noticed was the colour and finish – a unique shade of blue with an almost turquoise tinge. Up close it is sparkly. The headstock has a classic and stylish look. The metal parts are highly polished.

The Esquire is light and has a very compact feel to it. It balances beautifully. The double binding gives a sophisticated look.

This instrument has one of the nicest fretboards I have ever played. I have small hands and the neck profile, radius and sleek feel all suit me perfectly. The neck feels slimmer than the 42 mm nut spec suggests. All in all, the guitar has a petite feel. The narrow tall frets make precise playing easy.

The low action is out of this world! It is absolutely perfect and a dream to play. I never bought a guitar before that came so well set up.

There is only one pick up but it has three positions, each giving a different sound. In the neck position, the tone is softer but a bit quiet. The bridge position gives a really edgy tone – more cutting and trebly than I have heard. The middle position has a beautiful sound. It’s ultra-bright, jangly and very clear. Subtle adjustments of the tone control give a lovely wide range of colour and tone.

The vintage style tuners are very precise and feel nice and tight. I’ve owned about twenty guitars and this one represents the best value for money I have experienced. The overall finish of every aspect of it is of a high standard. It looks, feels and sounds like a guitar with a much higher price tag.

This Esquire felt like an extension of me the first time I played it and the sound – brighter than a regular telecaster – has great character. It’s comfortable, classy and a real head turner. It seemed as though someone had lovingly checked it to make sure it was just perfect. I am very happy with my new guitar. These Squier Classic Vibe Custom Guitars are the business!
