Great!
PERFECT for a beginner. Bought this a year ago and still plays perfect. I play the guitar with a scarlet focusrite into fl studio bias fx and the sound is great. Tried the guitar into my friends marshall jcm800 20w and the sound was super good. Pick ups aren't the best, but it's expected for its price.
In conclusion, its a great guitar with a reasonable price, perfect for a beginner. Would recommend!
Great for the price!
Awesome guitar. Machine heads and bridge could do with an upgrade and the guitar itself was pretty filthy as delivered. But, on the other side of that, a great guitar!
Excellent beginners guitar
She is a very well built guitar! Very well built but not very well finished. Let me explain, the fretboard needs a lot of love at the start, the frets are rough and need a lot of attention, the ends need to be rounded and polished. The wood itself is very nice and feels good in your hand, you can go the extra mile and get a fine sponge sanding block and do a nice rolloff on the edges. After that she'll play like a custom shop! (not really, but pretty good for the budget). The guitar is a very good platform for modifications (if you are into it). At the end of the day you get what you pay for and it is true here but on the good side of the spectrum. She's very good for the money and if treated right, she'll last forever.
All in all it's worth it
When holding the guitar in you hand it looks amazing only the fretboard edge is a little sharp and the frets themselves are pretty rough. If you look under the pick guard cover you realise why it's so cheap. Again nothing critical just sloppy. All that being said I couldn't recommend it enough.
It plays great and looks brilliant, so if you are a beginner or you need a project guitar you cant go wrong.
Lovely guitar
Looks great apart from a few cracks in the paint here and there, nothing major. Sounds great. Stays in tune well. Can't go wrong for the price.
Great for project guitar
Body quality is surprisingly good for the price, was surprised to find that there was electric coat paint on the inside (but no coating on the back of the scratchplate), once you install some good pickups, the guitar is great
Perfect beginner guitar
I bought this guitar to mod the electronics, so I will be focusing on playability in this review. The neck profile on mine was really nice and thin, the intonation was set up properly, the frets were leveled and rounded really well and the action wasn't too high. It plays really good for the price. Not quite a realy Fender top of the line, but it's better than you expect for the price. Tuning stability isn't too amazing, so I would recomment installing a graphite nut (for example a TSUQ-nut) and/or locking tuners, especially when you use the trem a lot. It tends to go out of tune rather quickliy with the stock parts.
All in all, I recommend this guitar for a beginner, tough I would replace the pickups asap, they sound really bad.
A great beginner and intermediate friendly Squier
I have had this guitar for around a year now and I am very pleased with the sound relative to the price, the only con i can find is that the tone knobs have very little effect and all they do is dampen the sound.
For this price.. good
I bought this guitar for my workplace, where I've some option to play, noodle on a guitar once in a while. My choice was the cheapest squier range, since I've good experiences with this brand, so. I set up this guitar by a pro, tried and used many times, It plays good, sounds good, perfect at this price range for my purposes. Yes the parts, the feel, the neck finish is cheap, but that's no problem. The neck need s a polish, but a few hours of playing does the job. :) I'd recommend this guitar for a beginner or someone like me, no one will regret this.
