Stairville M-Fog 1500 DMX Fog Machine

A really good machine!

This machine is really good, especially for the price. It is not the most controlable machine and the controls are a little imprecise..... but if you need a machine with good output for shows this is a real bargin! If you are looking for 5 pin DMX, digital controls etc this is not your machine... Still a very strong machine though.

Cheap but effective

I have 5 units. Fog generation is less than Martin, but otherwise works well. I have used them mainly outdoors.

Flaws:

* When fluid runs out of the tank sometimes they are unable to pump up enough fluid to start again, I have used medical injector to inject fluid into the line

* Power Cable is not removable

Very Impressed with this unit. Ive owned 4 smokers and this by far is the best.

Excellent as a DMX controlled fog machine

I have used the product for both normal fog and low fog effects with a chiller unit. The quantity of fog and its response to DMX are both very good.

The product is well designed and solidly constructed.

I looked at buying the M-Fog 2500, but opted for the M-1500 because of its better physical design in regard to the fluid tank, amount of fog per unit cost and its lower power consumption, making it easier to use with other equipment without needing an extra power cable.

The access door with magnetic catch is a very practical arrangement. It could benefit from being rather more heavily engineered, but is fine if reasonable care is taken when it is open.

It's a pity that the cable to the remote is not supplied in 2 sections with XLR connectors having an appropriate number of pins so that it could be extended. This would be very useful for those intending to use the remote, but I was specifically looking to use DMX control, having other fog machines with remotes.

excellent output

Amazing output it fills a room in seconds and it heats up quickly.

Also i like the safety feathers that it has. even if the level of fluid is low you have to reset it after refill.

Great amount of fog but not to sturdy

The Smokemachine produce a great amount of fog so there's nothing to complain about when it comes to the fog. The build-quality on the other hand is a bit to thin and not sturdy at all. It you are using it (if you for example work as a DJ and bring equipment with you) it's okay but to rent out I think it feels too cheap. The "door" on the side does not aline properlly and is just made out of a thin sheet of steel.

It works well but feels cheep!
