Steinberg UR12
2-Channel USB 2.0 Audio Interface

Decent soundcard for the price
While not powerful enough to drive an SM7b a condensor should be no problem. Preamp seems to make my voice sound a bit harsh and produces more hiss and noise than slightly pricier interfaces, for the price however and as a reserve it's sufficient.
Great workhorse for home studio
I'm using this one for 5 years now in my bedroom and also sometimes I take it to the stage/rehearsal.
Used it to get the sound of VST plugins into the PA and worked really well. Build quality is top as it was stomped on and thrown off the desk very often and still works great. Only slight traces of use like scratches are visible on top.
It's missing additional headphone volume control and second pair of audio connectors, as you cannot use monitors and re-amp signal at once.
Check this if using a laptop with Intel processors!
At the beginning I thought the unit was defective because of constant dropouts, but I was using an Asus laptop with an Intel processor with Turbo Boost technology, then I did what is described here in the official Steinberg forums ( that, the audio interface works just perfect. It is a very sturdy and professional unit compared to other interfaces in the market. The metal casing is just beautiful and the knobs feel very well manufactured. The audio quality is just great. Highly recommended.

Great audio interface, great sound. The package was well packed.
best device ever
The interface connected to windows in an instant and was ready to work right away. Amazing. The only downside is that my dt-770 pro 250 Ohm don't get enough output from the headphones out, so I have to root the signal through a mixer and connect the headphones to the mixer.
Everything perfect
Got this shipped to me even before the estimated date, everything in perfect conditions and working flawlessly.
Sturdy little interface, super simple setup and everything connected just fine (Win10 OS), have mic (AT2020), External Hi-Fi Amplifier/Speakers (Technics SA-AX6, JBL speakers) and headphones (Shure SRH440) all plugged in.
Audio In/Out levels super comfy to adjust, very happy with everything really.
Excellent audio interface for beginners.
Simple to use, functional, delivers clear recording and comes with a good DAW (Cubase AI). Very solid D-PRE Class-A mic preamp, with a detailed sound quality. Perfect for solo acoustic guitar and vocals, podcasting and voiceovers.
Steinberg audiocard
From the beginning a have a problem with sound. I have lags when I hear nothing and can't record something with my microphone. I tried to reinstall windows, drivers, I changed PC and tried everything but still have this problem.
Nice audio interface
I bought it for home studio recording. For my use, one mic and one guitar input are just what I need.
Pros:
- Good quality at low price audio interface.
Cons:
- USB input on the back would be nice to have to be able to connect other devices.
- You may have to setup your Windows to avoid dropouts.
Great Value Purchase
Works great for recording professional vocals at a cheap price. So far I'm about 4 months in with this & I had no issues with it. I've tried a Universal Audio interface earlier this month & even though there was a noticable difference, it wasn't a $800+ difference (at least to me). I'm sure I will upgrade to a more higher quality range interface (perhaps RME) later on but as of right now, this just gets the job done!
Pros:
- Does what it's supposed to do
- Good quality for its price range
Cons:
- None!
If you can't get a good & professional take with this interface, it's probably because of bad performance, bad room sound or maybe, you just simply suck at mixing.
