Big sound, small speaker

I've been using them to mix trailers for work and they have been great. Clear highs, clear mids and a round bass. Not amazing by any means, but they try their hardest.

Beautiful

Bought these for my son as I have reference monitors. These sound fantastic, he loves them and he has been producing music for a long time now.

First Studio Monitors

Absolute bargain for the price!

I use these for general music listening, no editing or monitoring, bear that in mind.

Great sound, although I feel that the mids are a bit "dull" on lower volumes. Other than that, great choise for my first studio monitors.

Nice low profile studio monitors

I went for these because as you can see from the headline they are low profile. I didn't want huge speakers on my desk taking up too much room but wanted something that would produce the frequency range that studio monitors can. I went with these over a year ago and use them nearly every day for either music listening/recoding/mixing or watching films and TV shows on the laptop or computer. They're still working and no issues so for the price I am very happy. I do think I will upgrade soon and see if a more expensive pair sound much different or what the comparison is but right now they do the job!

Amazing value for money

You must adjust your expectations and keep in mind the price you are paying - so at that point, it is one the best purchase I have ever made. I enjoy them and they make me feel a super smart guy.

They are just amazing for monitoring your desktop - surprisingly wide and clear, allows to identify the instruments and able to deliver the general groove.

For mixing / monitoring purposes, you cannot pretend a huge, high definition mix but here is a good trick: it gives you a nice perspective and good information for balancing if you do it in a low volume, in a 30cm triangle.

Its main weakness is the mid-low: you can compensate a little bit by reducing the distance between the two monitors. Therefore you can get some more 60-300.

Hope this helps.

By the way, you will love all the different inputs / outputs at your disposal.

Very good for small rooms (<20 m^2)

It is imperative that people learn that bigger studio monitors do not mean the sound will be better. The room size and structure will determine the reality of the sound waves arriving to the ears.

Studio Monitors Swissonic MM-3 have left me missing my old Mackie CR4 monitors, just because the connectivity of them was better, not the sound. I never use the full intensity values, and I still obtain good sound, more than adequate.

However, I would prefer for the on-off switch to be push, not clickable, and that they would include some foam padding for the underside. I might be needing to buy stands in the future, so that the tweeter reach the height of my ears.

Seriously impressed with these Monitors.

USE - I purchased these monitors for general music playback, mixing/editing documentaries (premiere pro) and mixing demos in Cubase.

AUDIO QUALITY - I trained as a sound engineer and have spent over 15 years working in the music industry so I wasn't expecting anything amazing with these monitors considering the price. I just wanted something cheap for my PC with a bit of power.

Honestly, I'm blown away by the quality of audio and the lack of distortion at high volume levels whilst keeping a nice wide, crisp, clear frequency range. I'm really surprised at the clarity of the audio overall combined with the power.

SUMMARY - If you're looking for an overall decent set of monitors for general use and basic mixing then I don't think you'll find a better set than these Swissonic MM-3's for the price and overall quality. Well worth the money. Will be looking into more products from this brand for sure.

No midrange

I am a sound engineer, tried these speakers because of the attractive price tag. It is not suitable for monitoring purposes, because the mid range is very bad. A good bass is coming out of it though. This only suitable for background music, in situations where you want to talk to someone. I would rate it as an ok hifi speaker, but as a studio monitor it is not fit for purpose. If you are a young starting sound engineer, please look for something else, you will not be able to make any decision on these.

Good quality for budget speakers

I don’t really mind because I’m in a family home , these speakers still do the job and I’ve no complaints I would recommend for starting off producers. These speakers are used for when I’m producing or arranging tracks. I like that they’re not heavy but they’re still very effective. If you’re on a low budget then deffo go ahead and get these
