Very usable versatile overdrive

I was looking for a low gain overdrive which does not have the ridiculous price tag of some of the boutique pedals. I wanted it for a clear overdrive boost with good useful controls. On first use I was unimpressed and could not seem to get a sound I liked but after messing with all the options I am now happy that this pedal is so versatile. The pedals knobs and features all have their own uses, the mix knob lets you add in your clean signal to the OD which is where this pedal shines beware that the level and gain take some balancing depending on what guitar and amp you are using but you will find a good balance if you persist. Also the pedal is quite bright sounding so the tone knob had to be rolled off on the pedal for the Tele I was using at the time. The switch on the right side is a great feature and can also be used to help match the guitar pick ups you have or if you run your amp clean or on the verge of break up. Each selection works with the gain stage The center setting is normal and seems to be the brightest the mid makes it sound like a tube screamer and the low helps thicken up a single coil pick up increasing the low end in the gain stage.

Overall a very useful jack of all trades in the tube screamer ballpark but with added switch and very handy mix knob for mixing your clean into the drive. I never got on with tube screamer pedals but this is not one but can be if you want it to. Now the price is way down on what they started with on initial release but now its worth 69 euros. You get your bang for the buck with it. Its only my second Trex pedal and I happy with the other as well (Creamer Reverb), its made in China like most things now but to high quality and also has nice packaging. Even comes with a allen key for taking the back off to change the battery. The only con is that the footswitch feels a bit soft I added a switch topper and fair enough it switches well even with that added unlike some of the TC pedals. The other minor complaint is the LED is so bright they could use a line of these pedals on a runway.

Super transparent overdrive

This overdrive is super transparent and does not hide the sound of your guitar, the mix control is super useful for lower distortion settings when you want some break up in the background but a somewhat clean sound.

Tone controls allow for a lot of tone options and the three mode switch adds even more flexibility.

Highly recommended and probably the only overdrive you’ll ever need!

Great Drive For Not A Lot Of Money!

The Diva is a very nice bright overdrive for guitar (doesnt work well with bass unfortunately). The 3 voicings are really usefull to find your sound and they are all usable, cause it sounds very nice. It is great for blues and rock, and for metal if you choose to use it as a boost. As all trex pedals, the quality is pretty awesome, the knobs feel nice and easy to turn. Its also not very noisy, unless if you use it at full gain, then there is a little bit of hiss. Wuld deffinately recomend at the 70 euro price point.

Amazingly versatile, unbelievable price

As with many people, I bought it because of the price. I didn't expect a lot, but I was curious. I was very surprised and it has remained on my board since, in place of pedals I paid 4x the amount for.

The range of options is huge for such a compact pedal. Everything from gentle low gain to a fairly aggressive higher gain overdrive, and it does them all beautifully.

A no brainer.

wow

Got it today. Tried it and thankfully it sounded real good.

I am a long time fan of the Voodoo lab Sparkle drive which is for me the king of drives since its versatile. But its old and heavy used over the years. So I wanted a sort of new trustfull drive with possibilities. Basically I love clean sort of boost. The Sparkle does that and sounds warm. Very warm...but also colours the sound of the guitar.

Well the drive does that also but only in the mid or bass boost setting. But is also opens the sound more. In normal mode it sounds as transparant as clear water.

So this one for me isreally cool. Depending on the vernue I always be able to dial in the sound that works for me (instead of me working for theright sound). So instead of changing pedals for adjusting towards a good sound this Diva Drive is able to get it right with only twiddling the knobs. The mix knob really helps with that.

And....its more touch sensitive and dynamic than the Bluesbreaker (Version I) that I still have and sometimes use.

So, if it is sturdy enough, its gonna be a keeper probably.

When I plugged it in I instandly had this 'WOW' feeling.

Not exactly a modified Tubescreamer, but still awesome!

Bought this as I am a big fan of the Alberta overdrive which hasn't left my board for years. What drew me in was the mix knob and the three-way voicing switch which I hoped would allow me to use this pedal as both a booster and a tubescreamer-type overdrive (JRC4558 op-amp!) with more flexibility.

After using it for some time I can say that for the money you pay, this is an exceptional pedal. It's small, very easy to set up and use, and the sound is quite more transparent that you would expect.

However, don't expect a Tubescreamer when you buy it. This pedal does not have that distinct mid-rangey overdrive that tubescreamer clones have. Instead, it has this clear, punchy, and raw overdrive tone that does not add a lot of color to your sound. The three-way voicing switch is also quite subtle, not giving you a massive change in tone between the three positions but still making a difference.

I used this with a super clean amp setup with my strat, which could explain why the effect was so subtle, and in this setup the pedal gave me more juice but kept the tone mostly intact, which I loved. It definitely does not add a unique colour to the tone like the Alberta does but whether that's good or bad is up to you to decide :)

If you're looking for something to add some clear punch to your tone or pair with another juicy overdrive, you won't go wrong with this pedal (only 60 euros!). I pair it with the Alberta overdrive with both a Strat and a Les Paul, and depending on the guitar, it gets you either in Blues heaven or that Hard Rock heaven !

I took of one star from the quality as I saw some messy glue residue inside, which definitely is not expected out of a pedal that used to cost near to 200 euros!

Great Drive at the current price

Amazing pedal.

It is basically a very tamed, very transparent tubescreamer.

It serves exceptionally for three main purposes:

1) Add some bite and nastines to the clean sound (at low levels) or

2) Push the front of a valve amp into overdrive (with level set to high )

3) Both while mixing clean and clipped signal, and using the tone control, fat and mid boosts to refine the interaction between different guitar and amp types...

By itself into a solid-state amp it is probably not a source of mind blowing drives.

It is transparent in the sense that it allows mixing the clean signal to tame the tubescreamer, but it does have an impact in the EQ.

In general a versatile high quality beast of a pedal. Only complaint is the blinding intensity of the red leds.....

5 Stars All Around

I have been using this pedal for a number of months now and it never disappoints! Can get really clean, creamy to high driven tones out of this! My favorite feature is the Mix knob as this allows to blend in your clean signal from your amp and really dial in your tone. Additionally the pedal has a 3 way boost switch for extra tone shaping.

I would highly recommend this pedal!..Especially for the price! Even thinking of buying a second one for a second pedal board ;)
