Superb!

I have been using Soulmate for few years now and over a few hundred gigs.. It has everything that acoustic guitarist needs... I use a looper pretty much in every song and the playback loop is a bit louder so you need to engage boost on your solos... which now I like, it gives more dynamic into song, but you need to get used to it... Reverb, delay and compressor for me it's always on... and they perform very well... I use expression pedal for shimmer and that is very cool feature, it makes a world of difference once you dig it... The sound of acoustic guitar, overall, through pedal is somehow warm, analog and the EQ section is superb! Chorus, I don't use that much ( only for ''Purple rain'' :-) ), but it's also very good... I wish it has tremolo instead.. I play Takamine guitar with CoolTube preamp, Larrivee D10, Ovation Glen Campbell 1986, and Taylor classical guitar... They all sound great but Takamine in this combination is out of this world soundwise... For PA I use LD systems Maui, and Bose T1 Tonematch digital mixer.. Simply great piece of kit! Only downside is that I have to wait for 3 months for pedal to arrive... it was not in stock... but it came eventually.. Cheers!

Must Have For Acoustic Players

This is an excellent unit which combines all the effects most people will need. Great EQ, chorus, compression, reverb & delay, so pretty much a one stop shop pedal board for acoustic players! Use it in stereo for the best results! Great build quality, great for live or recording, hence the 5 star rating!

A complete tool box for the acoustic guitar

Overall, if you are looking for a one-stop-shop for acoustic guitar effects I would recommend giving this pedal a closer look.

Originally I intended to order an EQ pedal simply to place acoustic guitar tone control directly at my feet. But then I changed my mind and decided to get the entire buffet that is the Soulmate Acoustic and never concern myself again with the acquisition of acoustic guitar effects.

After almost a year without any problems I can say I'm satisfied with this purchase. I mostly use the EQ, compression, reverb, booster and tuner - the modulation, delay and looping are basically ignored. Feedback killer? Yeah I have to use that every now and then too :-) But overall everything sounds great, the product both looks and has proven itself robustly built and considering all of the features packed inside the price seems about right. For me personally most important is the intuitive and simple design - two to three knobs for each effect provides an adequate range of control without overcomplicating things (i.e. effects can be adjusted within the parameters of what 99% of musicians probably want or need).

Only two criticisms. The power supply cable seems really cheap - every time I grab the thing out of my gear bag and plug it in I have a slight foreboding that it won't work. And I don't like the location of the loop station button since I feel I have more control over the timing if I don't have to take my foot off the ground while at the same time trying to avoid striking the boost button.

nice total package,but...

This is a real nice package. The tuner and looper are flawless, the EQ is hands on and does everything right, and the compressor has the right feeling. Boost amount can be adjusted on the backpanel which is a shame, as for the delay and reverb, you just miss that bit extra. If TC knows how to make the reverb and delay more flexible I'll buy this one again...for now I'm sending it back

This is a very good pedal that I don't like

I used delay, boost, looper and tuners and EQ - so why don't I like this pedal?

My biggest complaint is the looper buttons are way up top to the right. This would be fine I think if you play sitting down but standing on stage I found myself balancing myself so as to be able to turn things off and on in time and in a very awkward way.

I was annoyed by their not being the option of "trails" on the delay and reverb. When you turn them off they are off. No lingering notes. It ended up sounding like a bad edit for me.

The EQ section was nice and I liked the tap tempo feature and shimmer effect but the lack of trails on this was a real let down.

I'm not much for chorus, when I want that sound I play a 12 string. That said you could dial in the chorus to very subtle and that was nice as was the compressor and boost functions.

The build was top notch and everything "felt" great. But just didn't work for me standing up. If I sat down to perform I would've liked this about 27% more.

Perfect, simple solution

Great sounding pedal for those that want to add a sparkle and some effects to their acoustic set. Effects can be used to a nice subtle effect or cranked up to sound crazy. Very musical effects. EQ section is very powerful and easy to dial in. not much of a looper person so I'll stay quiet on that.

Everything is well laid out with the extra features cleverly on the back. Definitely work checking out.
