I purchased this because I am a learner and need good value for money. I can honestly say that she snare drum has fantastic sound and the build quality is the same as many very expensive drums. The case is well made and is very handy with the built in pocket for sitck storage. Also the practice pad has a nice feel to it and does a good job at damping the sound when playing in the house.

When I was young, my friend's dad had a Ludwig Black Beuty snare drum. What I remember most about that snare is the way it made you blink with the power and tone. While not quite as breathtaking as that 70s snare classic, this snare gets a long way there. much further than it ought to for its price, in fact. I've had drummers surprised by how good such a cheap snare is; I certainly am. If you need a solid snare but can't afford the big guns, or you just want an affordable back-up snare, this is the one.
Pearl 13"x03" Snare Drum S1330B

Nice snare, a small bit lower pitch then you would think but all in all what you would expected from a snare with this price tag. One issue is the strainer, when playing a rimshot it loosens up, so you have to tighten the strainer. In a recording environment it would be a problem. However it may change over time. Im still glad i made the purchase.
