Great cheap monitors.

Only issue I have noticed is that sometimes, and it's rather a rare event, one of two monitors is not switching to standby mode automatically after there is no signal for some time. Rest is okay, I like the detail of sound and design with knobs on the front panel which makes it easy to use them as add-on mid and treble speakers and adjust levels, whilst my 10" monitors can't be easily adjusted. Good choice if you lacking space and understand limitations of 5" drivers.

Pleasant and accurate image stereo

Great for mixing and for listening for long time periods.

air instruments sound exact, bass is punchy, and every instrument is visible on the image stereo due to the great and clear mids, also delay and reverb is really noticable, i'm happy with the concentric technology from the speakers.

decent and good enough

good for daily use netflix and disney+

used for listening to live recording in rehearsal room

7inch will be better but for home mixing 5 inch is well enough

As good as it gets

Very happy with these. Tannoy Golds are the best you can get cheap. Where for example Focals are much more forward and bright, these are just right and with a more spacious and well defined soundstage. They even do music quite well, and could be used in serious hifi-installations.

I'm very happy with them

Not able to compare A/B with more expensive monitors but these sound superb to me. Also the coaxial design have more precise sound localization. For the price you can't beat them!

Great value

These monitors are very pleasant not only to work on but also to listen to music. The overall frequency response is quite flat. As you can expect from a speaker of this size, low-end is not it's strong suit, instead the mid-range is very revealing and forward sounding and the higher frequencies aren't at all harsh. If you are looking for monitors to mix on, I would definitely recommend these. I've only had them for a few days and am really enjoying them. The bass and treble controls allow for greater flexibility in their use. Set them up, measure their response in your room, then EQ them with Sonarworks or REW, and you're quickly in business.

Entertainment use in the near field

In general, everything is fine.

There is not enough bass for the entertainment component, 7 gold are needed here, 5 gold cannot dig deep, which cannot be said about mid bass.

Also upset was the lack of an RCA connection and a factory defect with the vinyl film finishing of the cabinets, which in turn began to peel off from the ends of the case after 2 weeks.

But if you are not bothered by these little things and 5 inches are required, this is a good choice )

Very good studio monitors!

I had many studio monitors, but Tannoy Gold 5 is one of the best. Very balanced sound across the entire frequency range. Perhaps the best option in its price range.

Very good and pretty monitors that need more attention

These monitors are such gems. If you have a decent source, it will satisfy your music listening demand. Clarity, sound stage, imaging, resolution are all there and very enjoyable . Its only weakness is the bass response wont go low and leaving you craving for more if you listen to bass heavy genres. There are quality here but lack in quantity.

Then again these are 5inch monitors, you cant get much more here without doubling / tripling the price on the same size. Which is why I decided to go with the Gold 8. They leaves me impressed and satisfied!
