This unit can only be used as a direct disc player, which it does as expected. However, and i find this extremely strange in 2022, the software on this unit completely lacks of any network player capabilities...so you can connect it to your LAN, but it won't discover any Media Servers on it (i have 3 different ones at home)...actually, there even isn't a menu to play from the network. I am sorry to have to return this unit, my purpose was to have a network-capable player, and i failed with this product. Maybe the description should have a warning network playing is not present. I tried to find any SW updates from Denon which could enable this functionality, but....there isn't any SW update at all that i could find, either directly from the unit (there is a menu for network SW upgrades,...
