I have been looking for a CD player, but for the very specific task of spinning/playing the discs only, as I have a high quality DAC already. This arrangement offers greater flexibility for up-grades. What attracted me to the Tascam after research was its pedigree, being based on the CD-9010 which is aimed at professional broadcast use. The CD-6010 offers a more conventional design to fit into a hi-fi system, but inherits from the CD-9010 the disc playing mechanism (CD-5010),electronics and power supply. A considerable cost saving is achieved with the Tascam compared to some very costly CD transport solutions, for example the Moon 260D. The Tascam offers the same AES/EBU outputs for example. It also has a high quality DAC section from Asahi Kasei on par with the ESS family of DACs .The...

Great piece of kit, and plays SD very well and like how there's now XLR outputs (the older version doesn't have this). The only gripe I have with it is that it is very large and heavy and I cannot get it to have gapless playback through SD. A settings menu would be great, as the features are very limited. Edit: After a year, my Denon DN-300Z MKII has stopped working correctly and needs repair...

These units are great for fitness class installations. The units get quite a hard life and can get abused by the instructors so really expensive units are not cost effective. All the features that you'd need are in there and the USB stick facility is really useful. There's no remote control, but they always get lost within days anyway...and of course it's rack mountable which is essential for our needs.

I was looking for a good quality CD player, without any of the expensive (and useless for my usage) features such as the Bluetooth or iPod docking. The CD200 is simple, efficient and the perfect addition to my modest home studio. The pros: - Sound - Phones output - Strong (- Possibility to remove the rack fixings for hi-fi use) The cons: - No balanced outputs (- 2U)

Very happy with this unit. So much so will look to purchase another. Mechanism is tight, effects and features good. The only thing I need to adjust to is when using Multiple Cue functions. To quickly cue four points you need to use two hands on the unit. To keep depressing the record function as it seems to clear after cue point is set. Unless I am missing a function. All in all happy with this unit, cant wait to complete a Set with a Pair of these.
