Tascam US-16x08 Reviews
Awsome card for the money
I bought this card mostly out of curiosity and I was pleasently surprised.
I use this card for recording bands in studio. Card works great with windows 10, drivers are very stable, have no problems at all and the software mixer with some basic toneshaping accessories comes in handy.
The preamps on this card are, especially for this price range, great.
I use line inputs to connect my other preamps, when I need more channels.
The two instrumental inputs come in handy with VST guitars and bass sounds.
Great Interface
Bought this over a slightly more expensive interface because of my budget, I don't regret it at all. It is a very easy to use and set up interface and the audio is clean, clear and crisp. The knobs and switches do have a cheap plastic feel but thats the price you pay for a cheaper than average interface.

Overall I found this product pretty good, Plenty of I/Os for the price. Ideally it would have a full set of XLR In's but for the price you can't really expect that.
Manuel was pretty useless but you could find plenty online about this product.
It only has input sensitivity on the mic ins. The rest cant be controlled.
Overall, Good, Well priced piece of kit.
Awesome
Bang for the buck ;) just perfect.
16 balanced inputs.(8 of them with mic pre), 8 trs out's
DSP driver dont mess with the Daw's , very light
+ updated and perfect working with Windows10
the only Con
(minimal buffer size is 64)
anyway at 44.1k 64 samples it get (mesured)+-8,5ms of Round Trip Latency, wish is pretty good
Solid for the price
You can get great sound out of it with any kinds of microphones. Does the job and serves as microphone preamp when not connected to a computer.
I recorded a ful band with 8 microphones on drums, one vocal mic, two guitars (one with two microphones, one with direct from emulated line output) and a bass guitar connected also to line input.
No lag at all and no issues. I have a really old weak computer (3 gb of ram, win 7 32 bit) and also does the job well.
Recently they added the support for windows 10 and now it works as intended.
The bad thing is that there are only first 10 inputs with gain control.
Great bang for your buck!
So i've had this interface now for a week or two and i've used it enough to give a decent review.. Im using it with windows 7 64 bit, and with cubase 5, soon to be cubase 8.
Pros:
Really good signal to noise ratio
the on/off switch is great seeing as most interfaces dont have this
lightweight but well built
the DSP program is pretty decent
It is LOUD..
Cons (nothing to major)
some LEDs to indicate channel level on the unit itself would be brilliant
no gain control nobs on all the line ins
It doesn't really work with skype and the likes
Overall im pretty happy with it and i havent had any problems with it at all! I would recommend this, or one of the smaller models with less channels.
big band recording solution
very professional . great pramps and ability to record a whole band with it . i really believe it is amazingly low prised for what it offers
You get what you pay for.
Big minus for bad Windows 8.1 support.
Right from the get go I had a really annoying delay on my mic feedback in the Master R channel on both my monitors and headphones while the back TRS 1/4" jacks had no delay at all, I fixed it by running AudioRecordingWin8.meta troubleshooting program I had to download from the Windows Support website.
Getting the mic to work on Skype is impossible and forget every day non audio-production use because Spotify thinks there's something wrong with your sound card although Windows Media Player sounds great and Google Chrome will stop playing audio and even disappears from Windows Volume Mixer completely while other browsers work fine.
I tried troubleshooting this and sent a support ticket to Tascam with no response for over 24 hours so I'm returning this and will be spending a little more on my next audio interface.
