About Taylor

Founded : 1974

Taylor Guitars is a renowned manufacturer of high-quality acoustic guitars, known for their exceptional craftsmanship, innovative designs, and dedication to sustainability. The company was founded in 1974 by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug in Lemon Grove, California.

Bob Taylor, a self-taught luthier, began building guitars as a teenager and turned his passion into a full-fledged business. Alongside his friend Kurt Listug, they started Taylor Guitars with a vision to create superior instruments that would push the boundaries of guitar design and sound.

In the early years, Taylor focused on refining the construction techniques and materials used in acoustic guitars. They pioneered the use of modern manufacturing processes, such as computer numerical control (CNC) milling, to ensure precision and consistency in their instruments' construction.

One of Taylor's notable contributions to guitar making was the development of the Taylor neck, featuring a patented design with a unique, more stable neck joint. This innovation enhanced the playability and durability of Taylor guitars, making them popular among professional musicians and enthusiasts alike.

Taylor guitars quickly gained recognition for their exceptional sound quality, balance, and clarity across the entire tonal spectrum. The company's commitment to innovation led to the introduction of the Taylor Expression System, an acclaimed pickup system that accurately reproduces the natural sound of the guitar when amplified.

Taylor has consistently expanded its product line, offering a diverse range of acoustic guitar models to cater to various playing styles and preferences. They produce guitars in different body shapes and sizes, from the compact Baby Taylor to the iconic Grand Auditorium and the larger Grand Symphony models.

In addition to their focus on quality and innovation, Taylor is committed to sustainability and responsible sourcing of tonewoods. The company actively promotes the use of sustainable materials and has pioneered initiatives such as the Ebony Project, which focuses on conserving and sustainably sourcing ebony wood.

Today, Taylor Guitars is recognized as one of the leading acoustic guitar manufacturers globally. Their instruments are played by a wide range of artists across genres, from singer-songwriters and folk musicians to rock, country, and jazz players.

With a relentless pursuit of craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability, Taylor continues to push the boundaries of acoustic guitar design and manufacturing. Their commitment to producing exceptional instruments has earned them a loyal following and a reputation as one of the premier guitar brands in the world.

Beautifully made and a great player, with potability and a fantastic padded case. Might say itâs âTaylorâdâ to the customer...

Less volume output than my Taylor 214ce . good clarity on all strings . Pick up not as good as I thought. Hopefully will age well and produce a larger rounded sound.

The GS Mini Koa-Plus is honestly a good guitar with a good quality sound. With my honest opinion and why I took one Star out is, it should come with a Pickguard because, even though I bought mine at very new price, it came with a sign that someone has tried playing it with the top board showing a sign of the Guitar being slightly used. PickGuard addition will make it better for a long newly look...

This guitar looks good, feels good and is really easy on the finger tips to play. Tonally, itâs detailed and sharp with good depth and long sustain. The factory set up was excellent and the gig back is superb. I am very a impressed with the QA at Taylor compared to its competitors.Highly recommended.

After arriving yesterday I was not sure what to expect. However I'm delighted with my decision to buy this guitar. The only thing I regret is not getting it sooner. I have been playing as a hobby for 20 years+ with a more budget Chinese made guitar. But I had never considered getting a new acoustic. This makes a big difference to my playing when learning more difficult songs and makes them...

Excellent built quatility and great balanced sound; not as focused on the low end as 214ce with rosewood sides and back, but easily makes it up with the definion on the middles and lows due to Koa. Excellent instrument!

I decided to purchase the gs mini because i wanted a travel guitar in size without the thinness of sound that usually accompanies the smaller size. When i tested the mini i was very happy to found a perfectly setup guitar with great playability and tone.the volume output is more than enough for me(surprisingly so i might say) but expectably it does lack a bit compared to a 714 for example.I would...
