Does the job but developed a bit of crackle soon

This does the job of controlling my powered tannoys that don't have a separate volume control on my mixer. You need XLR outs. The knob is sturdy and has a nice feel however it has a tendency to float about the desk if you don't tack it down. Also after a couple of months of use it developed a bit of crackle when turning, nothing major as it isn't in the recording path. Overall a very handy gadget.

Cute little device but lacking build quality

I've had this device for little over two years now and though I like it's simplicity & size, I can't say I'd buy it again. The pot is very scratchy already to the point where I'll probably need to replace this device. Also when turning the knob, the bottom parts tends to turn too, the unit is not sufficiently heavy so you have to press it slightly while turning.

If you don't mind scratchy pots then don't let my advice stop you.

Good passive volume controller

Quality is good, does not take much space. The only problem is that it moves too easily, there should be more resistance from the pot. Better volume indicator (than silver dot on silver top) would be welcomed. Also, the unit should be much more heavier as sometimes it moves under the weight of attached cables.

Pot will go bad

Have one myself and had 10 where I work. The pot will inevitably go bad after a while. It's a pity as the machine aluminum is great, the feeling is marvelous, it's elegant and it won't clutter your desk, and it does its job flawlessly. Until the pot goes bad, that is.

Good, but be careful with it.

It is an amazing volume pilot and I keep falling back on the device. However, once you mess up the "stop" feature, it get really hard to find that min-max level again because it just keeps turning. But that is a minor issue and it is totally preventable.

Gorgeous, sturdy controller but conceirns with audio quality

I bought this and have used it for many years in order to have a volume control at hand for emergencies like crashes (when a sample is stuck in the buffer), or sudden loud sound sources and It does the job. It's heavy, sturdy and affordable, not to mention it looks nice and clean.

The downsides however are in logevity. After having been used for a couple years it started to 'crack' a little bit in use, possibly due to corrosion. I suppose this is acceptable wear considering my studio is used at least 60 hours a week, however I switched to an ARC (from RME) which digitally controls the output, and after taking this out of the signal chain I was blown away by the difference in fidelity. My sound was more open, the stereofield was more clear and the high end sounded more complete. I was obviously very used to the sound of my set after all these years so maybe the difference was extra noticable to me because of that, but I feel like a component this essential in the signal chain should'nt make compromises to sound quality, not even when it's 100 years old.

Simple and functional

I use this with my monitors at home.

There's really not much mystery to it. It's a simple level control and it certainly does it's job well. Knob movement feels nice and the level control is accurate. I haven't noticed any negative affect to the sound. Cables are quite long so you don't have the connectors laying on the table. If you just need a simple good quality level control without extra features, this one is for you.

In general very good

Only thing I would ask is that the cable is a metre longer
