Perfect for Gigs and Song writers

It's not complicated at all as some say. You can set up your pedal with a computer before you perform. Download up to 500 presets and mark some to your favourites, and then by filtering see only favourites. It has a lot of effects and settings for both guitar and vocals. When this pedal was released in 2015ish you can see complaints that guitar effects have no delay or echo effects, but it's not a case anymore, with the update they've added them, and guitar sounds much better. Vocal effects are amazing.

The only thing I don't like is switching to the loop mode, as you have to press 2 buttons at the same time unless you buy a 3-switch pedal. Overall I am super happy with this amazing device.

love this

the guitar and vocal patches within this great unit are wonderful and quite user friendly.. if it's set right the vocal harmonies are very realistic. i play acoustic guitar and rather than using tracks i wanted to create "on the fly" sounds and layering techniques and keep the instant "now" live feel. using the headphone out from tc-play acoustic into my computer i trigger the "midi guitar" program... with different patches on the tc-play live i can send my vocal or guitar or both to trigger the vst.. the sound is exactly what i was looking for.. i would recommend this to anyone. i have used it in band setting where basically the keyboard player dealt with all of the harmonies the over all effect was stunning.. if you can "try it before you buy it" and it will sell itself to you... enjoy.

Little disappointed feeling

Want to be short as possible. I am a singer and play acoustic guitar along. Bought this little "body" with high expectations, but was left little behind as unit being tested in real life on smaller venues and stages. In the end I would say it is a steady built, nice features, easy to use, but if you feel like your creative personality being digitalized and overtaken, then one should choose other more simple TC Helicon pedals. But in general, it was ok to have it.

Very good quality

I have bought it for using on stage on my gigs. It works excellently and there are many ways for customisation of interface so you can set it just the way you like it. Build quality is top notch, this thing is built like a tank. If you need vocal processor,I would highly recommend this one.

Great pedal for solo performance

I've been using the device for over two months now, did over 30 gigs with it (both small restaurant gigs and large festival stages) and it performed very well overall.

Due to somewhat limited options in terms of EQ and difficult navigation through menus, this pedal is not really optimal for big stage use, as sound engineers freak out once you tell them you need to hook the microphone up through it and in that way limit their ability to tailor the sound for you :)

For small restaurants and bars, it's a very good product and it really helps your voice stand out with the harmonies. They aren't always on spot and sometimes you'll get mixed results, but as you practice, you learn from experience when to apply them and when to avoid using them.

Pros: - lightweight, portable (carrying it in a guitar case)

- great quality harmonies and effects

Cons: - somewhat difficult to navigate and get a good set up

- doesn't come with battery option which would be SUPER convenient for busking.

I'd recommend this product!

Good for some things

Th acoustic processing is not that good. The body and tone shaping abilities have a very compressed and processed sound. TC seems to have been 30% focused on the guitar, 70% on the vocals. the vocals processing has frankly waaaaay more options than are necessary and most of the additional voices are very chipmunk-y. I use it simply as an added delay for big songs and as a secondary processor for an additional acoustic channel. Would never use as a standalone for acoustic gigs.

My go to pedal

I had one for 2 years. it got stolen and I bought it again without even looking for an alternative option.

This is a fantastic pedal.

There is a learning curb, this is not a plug and play device if you want to use it in a pro setup. there are some latency problems with the vocal fx, but its to be expected. further, its the one to buy

Great:):):)

It's just amazing how good this Play Acoustic is working! Like it with so far. I play acoustic guitar and sing, so in my case i use all of the functionality. It will take me some time to get through everything. This processor is like a computer, has tones of inbuilt features. Already looking to buy another TC Helicon for vocals only! Unbelievable how easy is to work with this effect. Out of the box even is just plug it and play, that's what i did:) Cons so far i don't have but i have it from a week and already like it!

Just the right one for me.

I have looked into those tc helicon harmoniser and this is the one that fits the bill just perfect. Two harmony voices is plenty for a solo singer. Mine has only chorus and reverb for guitars so I' have to check if there is an update to get the delay as well.

The reaction time to chord changes is good if you know how to help the machine (don't delay playing that chord).

It's fun to play with! I love it.

Great vocals and guitars

Improves your vocals drastically and works as a good preamp/multi-effect for your guitar too.

An excellent tool .

I sing and play guitar . Acoustic and electric . I used already , before Play Acoustic , Harmony G , from TC Helicon , very satisfied with that one at he time.

This - Play Acoustic - is a real upgrade , you can change presets easily , three switches versus two on Harmony G ,

and a lot of effects for voice , and for guitar too !!!

First thing , I updated my soft , after installing Voice Support form TC Helicon .

You can now save in any preset , your voice tone and your guitar tone . Huge improvement from where I was with my older Harmony G . You got 500 presets at your feet .I cannot imagine someone needing more than that .

Almost forgot . You got a looper included , that works very well for me .AND the body rez effect for guitar works amazing.

I'm totally satisfied with my acquisition !!!

pros

A huge collection of effects for voice and for guitar , BODY Rez , 500 presets , that you can update on-line .

cons

maybe ....the high voice - the third up , sounds a little bit thiner than on my Harmony G , more girly ...but this is too little to change my opinion . An excellent tool .

I recomand this !

Do I really need a degree?

Terrific bit of cost effective kit, but oh, so, effing complex - to me an ageing old fart! Once there, it sounds brilliant.

Does it all

For years, I've been triggering bass and orchestral samples on a laptop, via MIDI pedals, but I've stopped all of that since getting this pedal. The fullness that can be achieved with vocal effects in this pedal is more than enough. Great harmony engine, and packed with useful features, from looping to phantom power and in-ear-monitoring.

Play Acoustic

This pedal was originally bought for doing acoustic gigs where I just wanted backing vocals. Having played with the unit for a week and realising the amount of pre-sets you can download from the manufacturers website (listed by artist, song and genre!!) I haven't even needed to get into programming this thing yet. I also didn't realise that it had other functions such as looping, and the guitar effects I am now using as my go to pedal when recording acoustic guitar (and sometimes amp mic'ing) in the studio.

As the unit takes an audio input from the guitar to work out the harmonies, the unit is now setup as an aux effect (along with my other rack effects) to my mixer, so when a client comes in wanting harmonies to go along with any instrument, it works a dream. I've used it for creating harmonies when recording anything from dance tracks to basic acoustic set ups. This seems to get faster results than any plugin I've used. The only slight let down, was that the unit came with a US and EU plug adapter for the power supply, but no UK plug - so I am having to use an ugly adapter, as the manufacturers won't replace or sell me one!!!! All in all, this has definitely been a good purchase.
