When using mesh heads on acoustic drums for practice this is really helpful to prevent sudden loud noises from when you would accidentally hit the rims. And it allows you to play silent rim shots as well. It didn't fit perfectly on all my drums. For some toms I could cover only half the rim to prevent it from coming off, but that is no problem for me. For the snare I purposefully only used the rubber on the near side, so I could still play cross sticks on the actual rim.

Quality product

I bought this rather than the pre made drum sizes you can get as it is much better value. It is really easy to fit and drastically reduces the sound of a rim shot. Great for use with mesh heads and low volume cymbals to allow you to practice at home without disturbing everyone. Definitely recommended.
