This is very fun. It's primarily used by my small child but it also fun just to play around with. Because it's pentatonic, most anything sounds good. I'll actually play guitar chords in Am or C major and it sounds pretty good when my child plays. The only thing that could possibly be improved is ease of tuning. I believe having such small strings makes it difficult to get precisely tuned. Precise tuning, however, is not necessarily important because I believe it's more meant for children and isn't intended for playing along with other instruments. But I like having it precisely tuned in order to have a simple "jam session" with my child. It is still possible to get precisely tuned, it just takes longer than other instruments we have. Anyway, this is very nice and we're...

This harp is fabulous... The ebony colour is just gorgeous and the sound is marvellous. The delivery was fast. I would have preferred if they could have delivered it to at least my door, but it was a kerbside delivery. If it had been a dry day maybe I would not have struggled so much, however I knew it was this type of delivery when I purchased the product. The product arrived intact, except for a broken string which only cost me £2 to replace, so it was no big deal whatsoever. Great, great, great harp! You can’t go wrong.

Beautiful harp, I had tried them in person a while ago, so I knew exactly what I was ordering. These harps are particularly small and light, so are a great option for a beginner harp, but are still a perfect size for adult or child. The sound is clear and bright and resonates nicely. It comes with a light dust cover, removable legs, tuning key, small adjustment tools and is extremely well packaged for freight shipping. The dust cover wouldn't protect the harp when transporting your harp, so I'd recommend ordering the matching bag too! Took a few days longer than stated to arrive, but given its size, this is understandable, however, when you order something this size, it is shipped by freight so there is no tracking available.

I love it. Build quality is great. It has the warm classical sound of the pedal harp - it’s just not as loud (or heavy, or expensive). But the sound is super balanced - the base is impressively round and the treble is warm and pleasant. Not painful at all. The string tension is a lot heavier than my old nylon string Roth and junius Aurora, which I enjoy because it makes it easier to play dynamically. And it’s just more fun to play this harp. It’s a completely different animal compared to it’s cheaper counterparts.

I've owned this harp for about 6 months now, and I'm so very happy. The sound of the instrument is still developing, and every day the tone gets a little richer. I was looking for a harp for months on end, as it's a big decision to buy one. I wanted a new one to have full warranty, and because harps are hard to find in Denmark – also partly because with the used instruments I could find it was impossible to know how they had been treated. It's tall enough to play comfortably without having to add legs (I'm 1.80), and still small enough to be portable and as practical as a harp can get. The design is pretty, though I must confess I prefer a more gothic-style design, but the SOUND! I've never heard any harp as incredible as this one. It's so rich and warm, yet crisp and clear....

What a beautiful instrument it is! I was a bit apprehensive about making. such a big purchase online without trying the harp in person, but I had no problems with it. The delivery came in a huge box and very well packaged. The colour is really beautiful with wood grain showing through the blue paint. The wood doesn't have any dents and no assembly was required. I like the feel of the biocarbon strings. One of the strings broke so far, but I think that is expected for a new harp. The sound is big and very bright (which is a preferred tone for me), but it would not be suitable if you like a warm tone.

Salvi SALHER-MSS Hermes Mahogany

The Hermes has a beautiful sound and wonderful feel. I am an adult player and wanted a larger lever harp for comfortable playing and I'm extremely happy with this harp. The sound quality, especially in the middle 3+ octaves is superb. The biocarbon strings are much brighter and clearer than gut ones (I played a gut-string Hermes also), and the harp has a clear and resonant voice which projects quite nicely. This makes it a great harp for playing covers of pop music, soundtracks, and modern pieces. The lower strings are quite long and create wonderful harmonics but will need to be periodically dampened when playing vigorously, or the sound can get a bit muddy. This is typical of pedal harps and most large harps, but if you're moving from a smaller nylon harp, it is good to keep in mind....
