Great Value for Money

This Bb/F orchestral trombone is a wonderful instrument. Equal to instruments 4 times the price. It arrived on time, well packaged and even the separate parts were protected from any possible damage.

Great, although...

I used to have this instrument a few years ago until the F attachment started to get stuck. I tried everything the internets could come up with and followed every instruction properly, but it just stayed stuck. I sold that instrument and I actually wasn't all that impressed with the tone, especially when you compare it to a Bach 42, but...

Now that I know what kind of tone I want and what mouthpieces are suitables to those ends, I got this instrument again and with the JK Exclusive 12E, large shank. The standard mouthpiece with the deep round cup makes the instrument sound held back, reserved and boring. With this JK however, the tone is much clearer yet quite sonorous when you put some appropriate lung capacity into it. I now use it in a local fanfare orchestra and it just works miracles. It sounds absolutely impressive and in my opinion, as long as you use the right mouthpiece, you can actually compare it to a Bach 42. If I were to take price as a quality, then I would certainly prefer this instrument over the ludicrously expensive Bach.

Excellent product apart from improvement required locking slide section to bell section.

I purchased this trombone back in November 2018.

The trombone has proved to be very good value for money.

I have let a couple of friends use this trombone. They all think it is great to play...

Excellent quality with one exception: The taper / locking nut arrangement on the joint between slide section and bell section is poor. I have a very strong grip and find it hard to lock sufficiently well to provide a firm joint when attaching the bell section. When you need to put a mute in quickly - the bell turns on the joint. This is a shame, otherwise the quality of this trombone is excellent, producing a lovely sound. The slide and rotary valve work very well if cleaned / lubricated on a reasonable basis.

Extremely good value for money. Worth charging slightly more to rectify the one issue raised.

Excellent Value for Money

I am very impressed with this Trombone. It has a good sound in all registers and is well balanced. The Finish on the instrument is of a high standard and with care will give years of service. My only issue is the locking nut joining the two parts of the trombone together, it takes a lot of hand tightening to hold the instrument together firmly.

Using a heavy mute may be a problem. Overall well worth the money!
