Thomann DP-26 5-stars Reviews
Great Instrument!
Beautiful quality ( it's quite bulky) and sounds incredible. Has an array of voices ( I tend to use both Grand Piano one's more than the others) . They both sound more than adequate, though of course, don't quite replicate the sound of an acoustic piano. It, however comes close enough for me. Best of all it feels like a real piano with it's 88 keys and fully weighted performance. The features on it including reverb and chorus are great. Dual capability and a metronome If you are a learner ( or not!) and a Midi function for you to enjoy. It's quite an instrument and without a doubt the best value piano you can get in it's price range. I can't praise it highly enough. Get one If you are a beginner an intermediate player or If you want to get back in the saddle after years of neglect ;) It's a steal.
feels almost like a real piano
I wanted an economical digital piano which had something like the feeling of a real piano, but without the bulk and sensitivity to weather etc. This DP-26 is great for that. Feels like it will help me get my piano technique started - adult false beginner - the piano feels substantial, not at all flimsy, and as I don't need any special functions, this instrument gives me all I need. I am only using the piano sounds, which are fine for me, and they sound even better through headphones or through another powered speaker. The built-in speakers are nevertheless fine for daily practice. I like how the timbre changes when played soft or loud, maybe a real piano has better sensitivity, but this is really fine for me. Definitely a good buy!
everything's fine, but for 25 euros shipping i'd expect you to at least give UPS my number so that there's no difficulty for UPS to get my stuff over to me
1 month of daily using.
Thank you for your quality product and for the professional attitude of your employees.
I recommend DP-26.
I bought it for the studio use. I did not care about the sounds as I use my computer samplers. The keyboard is very good quality. I have already used it for couple of projects, for Rock, Pop, but even for classical virtuoso player. Everybody was surprised how well the keys react.
The sounds are OK for monitoring, the selection is useful.
For the studio - perfect. For touring I would be scared of it as it is all plastic. On the other hand it is very light which is a benefit.
Can't beat this price
I needed a piano to back my choir, since we needed to change our rehearsal place, and it had no real piano anymore. We briefly used a cheap digital keyboard but it wasn't loud enough to be heard over the choir. Also, no pianist likes to play those. We searched around and found the DP-26, which is the cheapest 88 key digital piano available. The choir has a very limited budget. Anyway, it comes with many features like a sustainer pedal, many different sounds and effects and it is quite portable. The keys feel nice, the piano sounds are adequate and it has quite large speakers for this price range, so it fills the room. To sum up, there is nothing wrong with this piano, especially in this price point.
Hard for me to rate well as i brought this to try out and have a go at the keys. i play guitar normally. I sold this on but not to do with the keyboard to do with me deciding to stick to the guitar.
As far as i could tell good sound quality good range of tones and had a fair amount of functions.
You will be hard pressed to find a better product for the price, definitely recommend.
When you consider the amount of money being spent, you are getting a great product, 88 weighted keys and comes with a sustain pedal so you don't have to purchase one.
I will admit, the bass notes are not great quality but it's a small price to pay for an overall solid product in this price range. You could pay a lot more for branded keyboard and not be as happy with it as with this.
The speakers are ok, but I recommend using headphones as you can hear the sound quality better. Nevertheless, the speakers do a satisfactory job.
I definitely recommend this product if you're on a tight budget and need a piano that you can sit down at and feel happy about the sound you're creating.
Great practice piano! works great with ipad!
The feel is very nice and it has precise dynamics on key velocity. It has a standard MIDI out as well as USB-MIDI, wich is uncommon these days. It also has audio input, as well as double headphone audio output for teacher and pupil. The piano sounds and reverb is ok, however I use this piano in companion with my ipad (Korg gadget and korg module app) and by doing so I can choose from a lot of different sounds and effects! The ipad even fits perfectly in the note stand!
At this time I can say I most likely will buy anotherone due to the fact that im moving to another location, its cheaper and more convenient to just buy another one!
Also with the new update the midi channel selection works fine! :)
Ony bad thing I can say about the piano is that the box is curved on top so things slide off, (i tend to put my small korg volcas there)
Great value for the price
I bought this piano for my daughter who's taking piano lessons but it quickly became my "toy" as she slowly lost interest, so it's my learning keyboard now. There is very little to complain about with this keyboard but I will try my best, so please read this review as me nitpicking an otherwise great product that I do recommend for entry-level. I cannot speak for professional use as a MIDI controller, as I am not a professional.
Cons:
- The two piano voices (the only ones I use) are pretty basic, it's quite easy to find software alternatives (for a price) that make this piano sound like a toy; I believe this is due to the low number of samples used. Some chords sound horrible when they shouldn't. You should consider a good software synth if you want to progress IMO.
- Does not support continuous sustain pedals. I bought a Roland DP-10 which works in on/off mode only. If you own the stand with 3 pedals, the sustain is actually continuous but the piano only reads 3 values (on/off/half) which is very annoying to me. Alas, very few pianos/keyboards seem to support continuous sustain anyway.
Can't fault it for the price
I bought this to be a practice instrument initially when playing my acoustic piano wasn't an option and also to be a stage piano once my band was up and running. I didn't want to spend a lot but I had to get something that felt like a piano. For me the DP-26 ticks the boxes. I'm only really interested in the piano sounds and to my ears they sound just fine. There are obvious areas where you're getting what you pay for; plastic ins and outs look delicate, especially for gigging but I'm asking it to do a lot for the price. Get yourself a double braced stand and its nice and solid to play on. Item also requires a larger than average soft case. Speakers are very loud too! I'm really happy overall. If I need a more pro stage piano in the future I'll upgrade, until then I'll put the DP-26 through it's paces!
Awesome and Definitely Value for Money
I was deciding between this and a few other entry level DPs from yamaha and roland. I wrote to them and they actually recommended that I go with the yamaha for better sound. However, my stubborness got the better of me and I stuck to this purchase anyway and I must say I was not disappointed one bit. Great purchase and great value!
BTW rating is in relation to the cost, don't expect it to sound like a grand piano or a korg ;)
Worth quality-price
I cannot ask for more for this price; it is my first piano of a "real" lenght and I am very glad. I can remark that the pitch it is no my favourite and I wish the whole instrument to be lighter. Overall, I am very happy because the touch is good.
nice product
better than the previous model, its lighter and easy to carry, the sounds are better also, the stand for music sheet its much much better it doesn`t fall by itself and the keys are nice.
