Deep, resonant and rich sound.

Pros: It's got a very warm, dark sound. It's just dreamy. It's lighter than expected for its size. The pistons feel very fluid and responsive. Easy to clean and maintain. You won't want to put it down. Cons: Should do full maintenance (washing it) at least once every 2 months, not 3 months like it recommends in the booklet it brings if you're using it weekly, or the valves begin to stick even after oiling. The middle to upper partials feel distant. Should purchase a step-up mouthpiece right away with it. The unidentified one it brings is all over the place when it comes to tone. Your hand's natural oils can quickly damage the lacquer if you're not on top of it wiping it after each session. Using a regular polish spray on the surface with a microfiber cloth helps protect the lacquer.

Great horn for this price

I didnt expect much since it is so cheap, but it is really nice horn to play with (i dont really have experience of other flugelhorns though) but I enjoy it. One trigger is not working super smoothly but besides that, valves work fine. Also there are some spitvalves that the Cork is not installed perfectly in the middle and some glue is visible but these are just minor aestethical things.

Great buy!!!

This is a very good flugelhorn at an affordable price. It sounds great and is comfortable to hold. The case is nice and protects the instrument quite well, and it can hold an extra mouthpiece. I am originally a trumpet player, and this is a nice addition.

Astounding!

I ordered this on the 9th of December with the expectation of receiving it in mid January, yet it arrived on the 27th of December, packaged with amazing care, and in immaculate condition. The valves work amazingly, and it gets a beautiful, tuneful sound, even when I first got it and had a brief play on it cold. All in all, I cannot complain, it is my new favourite of all the flugels I have played.

excellent value

This horn is an excellent horn for the money paid. However I found it out of tune in the extremities of the register.

I loved everything else about this horn and found it a great instrument for the part time or intermediate player.

First flugelhorn

Bought to see if playing the flugelhorn was something that I'd enjoy. Previously played a bit of trombone and trumpet, so not much experience with brass instruments, and most definitely a beginner.

This horn is brilliant! It looks great and the valves are smooth, and the included case is pretty sturdy and useful too. I've had some proper trumpet-player friends test it, and they've all given great reviews and been shocked at how little it costed. For me, it's been a great first flugelhorn. Would definitely buy again!

A nice instrument.

I bought this as my first flugelhorn, about 1 year ago.

I have found it's a great horn for learning, and hence i believe that it's

a good instrument for anyone that needs a flugelhorn.

The tone is really amazing for the low price. I have mostly played jazz with it and it really sounds wonderful, especially with a little extra reverb.

The quality is also great. Of course nothing is broken, and the valves run smoothly. In the beginning the first valve had a tendency to stay down even after oiling them, but when I started to play more often and when playing regularly, there are no problems.

I've heard that intonation is a problem on many horns, but I haven't noticed anything like that. And of course the intonation valve solves most things for the perfectionists.

Overall it's a wonderful horn, a great instrument case, and one mouthpiece.

I also got a K&M stand, which fits without problem in the horn, in the case.

I recommend this horn for any beginner, and for any advanced trumpet player who wants to expand a little.
