I've tried various brands of bucket mutes through the years, but this beats the competition hands down. The mute is fantastic quality, with no rough or sharp edges and nicely padded clips to attach it to the bell of the trumpet. Depending on the exact size of your bell the clips might need bending slightly to get a good grip. The bucket has some issues fitting on smaller bells, such as some cornets and Eb and D trumpets, but with a small amount of bending the clips this can be fixed. The sound of the mute is beautiful and mellow, with the adjustable tightness of the bucket allowing for a wider range of tonal colour.

Having researched bucket mutes online and considering the different brands available I decided to go for this one. I already have a clip-on bucket mute for my Flugelhorn and although the sound is good it is not that easy to get on and off. This was one reason to go for this push-in type for my trumpet. I've had it a while now and so far I'd say it's excellent quality and looks great. The sound is fantastic. Really nice timbre and tone colours which are completely different to any other mutes. Compared with the other type available (clip-on) I much prefer this one. Other band members were immediately impressed when I took it to rehearsal and liked the sound I produced with it. In conclusion, I'm really really pleased I bought it.

it's arrived! I ordered one of these ages ago when I needed it for a show I was doing and they were out of stock and wouldn't be available in time, so I cancelled the order but knew I wanted one - I've done three shows in the last 12 months and needed one for all of them, so I re-ordered one and here it is. and it's perfect! nothing else sounds like it and it's perfect for what I need. the trombone player I work with wants one now and I've told him it'll be a lifetime of playing "song of india" if he gets one, the mute originally being called a 'song' mute after tommy dorsey used one in that tune. thank you so much for the item, the excellent service (as usual) and the prompt delivery. and no points to royal mail who never leave it at my flat but take it to a local post...

I love this mute! I am so glad I found this plunger mute, and even more glad that I bought it! I had been searching for the right plunger for some time and I was never really happy with anything that I tried; some of them sounded OK but they were just too difficult to hold and operate while playing. This EMO plunger feels so comfortable in my hand and I can really exaggerate my wah-wah sound without losing any grip or balance on my horn. Also, it looks really cool! The bright blue and red really stand out on the bandstand. Plus, the inside is lined with red felt that is really beautiful and adds a sense of sophistication to this mute. The best plunger I have tried, and a very reasonable price.

For when a little more volume is tolerable, this makes a great practice mute - it blows more freely than the standard shhmute, but it's louder. Quality is good, it looks and feels well put together. The sound is, however, pretty rancid. I can't imagine wanting to use that sound in performance. I bought it with a little of both in mind - as a practice mute that would probably be a little less stuffy (it is) and as an on-stage quiet mute. On the one practice front it's, but I don't dare use it onstage. For the price I'm more than happy with it as a practice mute alone. If looking for a mute for performance, definitely try before you buy.
