Nice Acoustic Sound too
In my The Heritage H-575 with piezo bridge they sound well even on the acoustic side.
Do not buy these strings! Unless you have incredibly mellow pickups.
Buy the BB113 set instead! The G string on this set is unwounded and BOOMy as hell. Even with pickup pole piece adjustments it was still incredibly boomy.
See, words can't describe how boomy it is. It's amazing for melodies. It sounds like a female voice singing at the top of her lungs. But it just doesn't sound as good in chords, it overpowers all the other notes. It didn't change even after playing them for months, until all the colour wore out. With the giant caveat that if you have custom incredibly mellow pickups, the opposite might be true and these strings are exactly what you want. To be clear, acoustically you can't really hear the boominess. It's there but it's not nearly as pronounced
Yes, it's beautiful, brass plated in gold colour. Yes, they will last you forever. Matches perfectly with gold hardware. However if you want a mellow jazzy sound, especially on chords, buy the BB113 set! It's also got the thinnest strings in gold colours so don't worry about that. The BB113 set is, ironically, also easier to bend! (I mean on the two thinnest strings) My theory is that because they are thicker don't cut into your flesh as much ;)
Good sound&quality for a good gauge of strings
I buy those particular strings only for gigs, when I study I prefer to use some entry-level strings, but those are the gauge I prefer the most. Only the GB signature maybe are better than those but they are also more expensive. Good price and good quality for a classic strings manufacturer for jazz guitarists.
Beautiful clear and precise sound
these strings will change the way you look at your guitar. Simply beautiful sound
Best jazz strings I ever played
This is the best set of guitar strings I ever played with.
Sound wise they would sit somewhere between standard round wounds and standard flat wound strings, still having some of the sparkle and bit. My "go to" set of strings.
Awesome strings
Awesome strings! In my Ibanez Ag95 they give me the sound and feel that i like.
okay
The strings are OK. The first set I have bought and I've only used them for a couple of gigs.
The best roundwound ever
The best roundwound ever ! jazz tones...
the last for a long time with great tone,
They worth their price
The best jazz guitar strings
These are definitely the best jazz guitar strings I've ever used - and the most durable. I changed strings a month ago and have been playing my guitar every day since, and there are no signs of corrosion. The sound of the be-bop strings is distinct and clear without beeing too crispy or too muddy
Great long-lasting strings with a wonderful tone
These strings are great. They sound great for jazz, with a bright-ish tone which is not overly so.
The silk wrapped around the ends aids the string not to slip through the machineheads and nut, which is great. You won't have the problem of the string slipping and making that awful 'tink' sound when tuning.
These strings last a little bit longer than your bog standard cheap ones, which I guess is part of the reason that they are a little pricier.
The one thing I was disappointed with was to find that the G string is unwound. I prefer wound G strings, and didn't realise this when buying it. This was a pity because I had to use another wound G string. A little bit of a waste, so just make sure that an unwound G string is what you're looking for.
