Steel upright Bass strings

These are great strings for jazz, Blues and Rockabilly and sound great when put thru magnetic pickups, a big full fat sounding string, obviously being steel you will get blisters at first playing these for a length of time but it's a small sacrifice if you want a big full sound to your bass.

Good choice for Steels

Having come back to upright after many years of playing Bass Guitar ,I Took the advice to buy of two proffessional players that I know use these, one plays exclusively Slap and the other mainly fingerstyle and occasional Slap. I fall into the latter category. I play mainly blues and Rock n Roll. For this they have great tone and have so far lasted well. The journey to finding 'your' strings can be long expensive one . These are well worth considering. Obviously alot tougher on the fingers for slap than all the 'Weedwhacker' style nylon strings out there but if you can get used to it the tone makes up for the effort. For straight fingerstyle they have a nice flexibility and you can play them comfortably all night. Hope this review is helpfull.
