Even after following all the "windows compatibility guidelines" from Universal Audio and spending countless hours looking for solutions on YT and various discussion boards, it's still unusable for audio playback paired with a highly optimized, top notch mobile workstation (Dream Machines - X170KM-G, i9-10900K, RTX 3080, 128GB RAM, 5TB NVMe SSDs, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports) that has zero issues with any other piece of hardware or software that I own.

Fortunately, it works a little better in ASIO mode, and the random pops & crackles are happening less within the DAW.

This isn't a new issue and UA claims that there are just a very little amount of their "Windows customers" that are dealing with this issue.

However, a simple google search reveals that there are a lot of people experiencing random artifacts on audio playback.

At the same time, a product in this price range should be plug and play, without a need for Windows users to do advanced system tweaks like disabling power management features and running their systems at maximum power consumption, even when not needed, just to have this interface running or partially running with their machines.

As my mobile workstation was delivered with a huge delay due to the "pandemic" situation, I couldn't test the compatibility for a little over 1 month, so it was too late to return it.

Hopefully, Universal Audio will release better Windows drivers at some point, but it seems that this is far from being important to them.

Otherwise, when paired with other systems, it is a really nice piece of hardware. At least according to the tech specs.

i have symphony mk2 2 and apollo x6 i cant say that uad converters are better then symphony ...but its very god for this price with plugins

Better sound, better mixes!

The upgrade from the previous generation Apollo 8 was totally worth it. I was hesitating for months but my new productions have shown a sonic improvement, especially in the low-frequency range - the new X series plays the bass back with more 'tightness' and accuracy. Also the stereo image is slightly better.

I did not notice any quality difference on the way in, as I was already happy with the previous gen but for producing and mixing it is an upgrade you can't afford to miss! Thanks UAD!!
