DTS Scena 650/1000 MK2 FR Fresnel
Based on 3 reviews
In 2015. I had a chance to visit DTS at Musikmesse in Frankfurt. I was pretty impressed in overrall with their products. But since I had to get me few fresnells I looked there for DTS. At first when I saw Scena 1000 MK2 I was really impressed because of the quality how unit is built, quality and brightness of a light and definitly in price. It is great because they have equal qualities in construction and illumination like many other more expensive companies have. I work a lot with ARRI products, but DTS really blew my mind. I would reccomend this unit for everyone - professional or amateur use.

I purchased two of these to support some other LED and traditional lighting on a small theatre rig. I was very impressed with the number of features for what is quite a budget product and they have exceded my expectations. They're not the brightest in the world, so don't rely on them as your main lighting, but to add some shots of colour or highlight an area they are really useful. There are a number of DMX profiles depending on how much control you want and even in the most basic mode they are pretty easy to use. Cold an Warm Whites are good and it's easy to mix up some hues. DMX control over dimming curves etc. is useful too. With every element of the COB at full power you get a bit of a messy cold white but that's pretty common amongst such units. A bit of a tweak on the colours...

Lovely 650 fresnel with some of the most even light distribution availible on the market right now, as there still isnt afordable altenatives in the the LED world. The lamp is compact and rugged with easy access to lamp change with a small latch on the top. Switch on the cable is also genious when having smaller events, as well as longer cable than usual! The clamp system is genious as it makes you able to attach the fixture to several types of pipe, clamps, and of course - it is specialized for Manfrottos superclamp! Would really recommend this product for smaller applications where quality is the headline!

I was always struggling trying to get a basic stage light setup for live gigs going with some auld P56 can's and Studio par leds. I was struggling to make a choice as there are so many LED based Fresnels out there. I now have two 650 and they never fail to illuminate a stage even if there is a projector screens right behind the musician. I use them in conference, live sound and photo sessions and they are just always doing their job. Havent had one bulb blow so far. I use them together with MANFROTTO 1004BAC 124-366CM that can bring them to almost 4m height. The stands are the perfect match, sturdy and easy on the bulbs with they air buffer. I use STAIRVILLE NS 2003 SINGLE DIMMER RESIST to dimm them. I Can not recommend those Stairville dimmers to much. I can recommend to buy LEE COLOUR...
Elation KL Fresnel 150W 6" CW

At our relocated house of worship we first tried a regular warm white fresnel (Cameo TS 200 WW ) but we we unsatisfied with a color - too warm, too yellow. We have a white houselight at around 4900K so this did not match. We the chose these Elation cool white fresnels and put a warm filter over it and it showed up perfectly. We use just a regular filter, not even a LED-light-rated (like Lee Zircon). As a big advantage of cool white fresnels overall I see they can be easily warmed down to a desired temperature by filters and you do not even loose lumens, since cool white is more luminuous than warm white at the same power.

So, fist it take my attention by the fact that it is in a price range of 20W projectors, but it has 150W. So, I bought 2 pcs. PRO: - very bright. One projector provides more light than 3 old 1000W halogen projector - the cooling fun is quiet enough to not be observed in a hall of 1000 people CONS: - the thouing angle is fixed. You don't have the possibility to adjust it. But it is correct advertised - the lateral flaps are painted in white glossy paint. They are useless. You can't limit the lateral light. So, you have to make your calculation about the spot size, considering the 40 degrees opening.

We use these lights to cover the front of our stage with a nice warm white light. The setup was fairly easy as there is only two options for running with DMX (single or two channel). They come with all the connectors that you could need out of the box (1 dmx, 1 power in and 1 power out). In particular the warm variety of light was just what we needed as often LED lights can by nature can look cold. The barn doors were a bit stiff to begin with but after a bit of use and some dw-40 it seemed to ease them enough.

Bought two Fresnel spots and barn doors for lighting a small touring theatre production. I needed to be able to light the cast in a number of different locations without spilling light onto a projection screen, so good control of light spread needed. Barn doors were essential for this purpose. I am not a lighting expert thus cannot compare the performance of these units with others. However, they did exactly what I needed them to do. There is good range of focus, there was sufficient light density to illuminate the cast from a distance of around 10 to 15 meters, and the quality of the units seems good. The attachment of the barn doors seemed to be a bit flimsy and imprecise, but again this may be normal as I have nothing to compare it with. The plugs supplied with th bundle are European -...

Used in a venue as stage lighting, as well as for disco ish effect. These are 'good enough'. Not a huge amount of output but enough to get a bit of decent light on stage. I wasn't hugely taken with the quality of the light they give - can't say it's super warm, but I'd use them again because perform well enough at their price bracket. DMX worked great, and their rising mode is pretty useful. I'd like a dimmer curve that starts off darker, but I reckon that's possible in the internal mennues with some about tricking.
