Vater Swing Hickory Wood Tip

weight is wrong

It says 89 grams, I was looking for a thin yet heavy drum stick... unfortunately the weight mentioned is incorrect it is same as other 7As .. around 50 grams

Not my type of drum sticks

So I bought them, so I can have a try on them since I can't find them in my country. I really love the quality of Vater drumsticks but liking a specific pair of drumsticks is clearly a matter of taste...

I used to be a vf aj3 user, and then I became a vater bebop 525 user because what matters to me on a pair of drumsticks is how the cymbal attack and wash sounds to me when playing.

I kinda found them similar to the vf aj3, although the weight on the swing stick is more centered to the front. The stick definition was good and clear although brighter than the vj aj3.

Great quality, great feel

It is the first time i tried these sticks and i have to say they are great! No compromises when compared with other brands, light and durable along with a very nice feel.

Nearly perfect pair of sticks

I've used many different types of sticks from various major brands, and throughout developing my technique, I found that Vater sticks would last the longest (intact wood tips).

Pros:

- Beautifully tone and weight matched for an even sound and feel

- A good variation of the 7A style

- Great for traditional grip

- Great for drummers with small hands

- Fairly light sticks

- Long lasting

Cons:

- Lacquer finish is a bit too high when new, but they break in nicely after 2-3 drumming sessions

These sticks have grown on me a lot and now I have a hard time finding a better replacement. Until then, I can't recommend these sticks enough.
