Like a 5B but snappier

great alternative to Vic Firth's standard 5B if you like the girth/durability of them but find them a little sluggish.

Fuck*n love AJ1s

My favourite stick ever and I haven't been able to get these for months and still won't be able to get them for another while. The Hickory is on strike...

Cool sticks!

Very well ballanced sticks with a long taper. I play quite heavy music with them but I'm not a heavy hitter. So for those heavy hitting metalheads they may seem quite thin and short. They're also great for a practice pad.

Good Versatile sticks

Im studying music and I thinks these might be the most used sticks that I have seen other summers use. They work pretty good for a variety of music styles.

Don't let the name fool you, I?ve seen drummers play pretty heavy music with these as well.

Quite bouncy sticks.

Thick, Solid, and Great for Control

As someone who got his start in drumming with marching sticks, these things definitely induce a bit of nostalgia for me. I love the weight of them and the balance is wonderful.

I currently play with the AJ2's for most of my shows, but whenever I feel like my muscles are fatigued and I'm going to need more control for the set, I pick these guys up. The diameter allows for a really solid grip, and if you're a heavy-hitter, you can really wail away with these sticks. My rimshots have never sounded thicker than with these.

All of that being said, these are the "American Jazz" series, and the amount of dynamic control that you can achieve because of the size and weight is incredible.

Great sticks, fair price, and noticeable Vic Firth quality. No obvious cons to mention.

Jazz drumming

It's like a 5B but with a slighty lighter feel because it's got a longer taper. I like the feel of 5b and this is something that gives me that but with less volume and better rebound, just the right thing for these situations. If you ever played Vic sticks it's like most of them in means of quality and craftmenship(superb).
