AMAZING
It really is everything what people say. The tones on this thing... especially with a strat... It just gives me the sound I've been trying to find. Very versitile since you have 4 channels to chose from which you can also jump.
there's a reason this is a classic
I love how this amp can do anything with the right guitar.
It does clean and edge of breakup stuff really well, and it can get even in to high gain teritory really well and have great pinch harmonics with really high output pickups.
it has the british sound with a great chime to it and jumping channels is really fun.
I was worried a bit about some online previews stating there is a rattling when playing but mine doesn't have that issue, either they fixed it or I got lucky.
Would I recommend this? of course I do, it can get that twangy "american" sound and has the typical british character too.
the 2 band eq controls seem limiting and are tricky to handle at first (if you're used to the more common 3 band eq that most amps have) but they work together, adding highs also removes low end and vice versa. it takes some getting used to but is really fun when you know what they more or less do!
I'm sure this amp can last a lifetime with the right usage, it seems to be build very sturdy and is quite heavy too.
Always wanted one...
It did not disappoint.
Ooozes quality.
This amp is loud, and I mean really loud. This sounds as loud as my 100 watt Orange. Amazing clean tones, through to proper nasty chrunchy rock goodness. Versatile even without pedals, but takes pedals really well too, especially with delay and mods in the effects loop.
It a beast to carry, a two person lift if more than a few meters - but luckily has a handle at each end!
It's hard to fault really.
What an Amp
I bought this as my full gigging amp and she's a BEAST. I'll warn you with certain pedals they're almost too loud. It's a proper AC30 through and through. Do yourself a favour and stop reading this review and just buy it....
Amazing amp.
Great Distortion tones, Great Clean Tones!
Pretty heavy to handle around but can be easily treated with a nice home made crate with wheels!
My AC30 :)
I use this amp for playing at hom with my strat am spec, and I have to say: sing like a bird :). Most of bands I am like, use to play with AC30, like Joy division, The cure, The clash,.... This amp is a legend.
Whatever you want the amplifier to do, that will be
A unique sound lab! Everything you want and what needs to be in one place ! R & B, Rock, Country, Funk, Soul, Jazz... Each guitar sounds uniquely in its original tonal manner, and is the sound of the best release. At home, in a studio, in a small or big club, or at a stadium, this has made the job fantastic : "At the 2010 Winter NAMM expo Vox introduced the Custom series; these models were updates to the 2004 Custom Classic series amplifiers and featured two channels (Normal and Top Boost) with two inputs for each channel (High and Low), more akin to the original AC30/4 layout released in 1958. It was available with either Greenback speakers (C2) or Alnico Blue Speakers (C2x), and was also available as the AC15. Later limited edition models include the AC30BL, a tygoon blue tolex with grey speaker cloth, an AC30C2RD with a red finish, an AC30C2-BRG a British Racing Green tolex finish with a grey speaker cloth and the AC30C2 Black Comet; featuring a patterned finish all are identical to the C2. The amp featured an option known as "Jumping" where the High-Normal channel could be linked to the Low-Top Boost channel with a patch lead, whilst the guitar is plugged into the High-Top Boost channel, allowing both channels to sound and create a fuller, thicker overdrive sound. The amp also featured a solid-state rectifier to increase reliability. Controls include a Normal volume, Top Boost Volume, Treble and Bass controls, Reverb Tone and Level controls, Tremolo Speed and Depth controls, a Tone Cut control (to add further control over the higher-frequencies), a Master Volume, and a Standby and Power Switch. A true bypass effects loop, extension cab output and external cab output were also included; as well as an input for the external foot switch (to control Reverb and Tremolo). The amps are produced in China. The amps were released to critical success, garnering awards such as Music Radar's "Guitarist Choice" award."
Best Amp ever
I have nothing but good things to say about this amp. Tone is out of this world, with just about any guitar. Takes pedals really well. If you dont know if you should get it, well dont waist time and buy it.
The classic british invasion sound
I've been looking for an old AC30 since a long time, and when this one came out I was a bit skeptical. When it arrived to my house, it was very hard to bring it upstairs. Its a heavy combo, but it sounds incredible. There was a couple little unfinished details on the outside, but for the price it's totally worth it.
Its not very easy to carry it around but its a great amp for playing gigs and getting that old rock and roll sound!
Very good amp
The sound is nic eand warm and very good quality overall.
Would recommend.
