I play in an alternative metal band, and I tend to mix slapping with fingerstyle. This is the main reason I chose this bass - it can do both. This bass sound amazing. It can reproduce the signature Stingray growl which cuts through the mix and at the same time doesn't collide with the other instruments. I really love that the bass has only one pickup, since even when I'm playing a J-style bass, I always use both pickups. I just don't like going through different pickup combinations. The 2-band EQ seems to work fine. However, it would have been much better if the bass came with a 3-band. In certain situations, the extra control over the middle frequencies can be a lifesaver. About the build quality and the hardware... I'm not particularly picky when it comes to this, but the fretwork...

I am only beginning to play bass for my bands recordings, actually being a guitarist. So, I don't know much about what this instrument is supposed to be for actual bass players. But as a beginner Instrument, it is great - especially for its price! To my greenhorn ears the sound is really good and can be influenced via the instrument's own controls quite a bit. It looks fantastic and doesn't feel cheap in the hands. The quality still has to prove itself over time though. It is much too early to say something about it. Status of now is: I have no open wishes for this thing, but a lot of fun with it. Only delivery was a lack as it took two months. I figure this might have been due to the Red Sea shenanigans though.

I was thinking about ordering a custom bass to play the high-C 5-string, but I bought this bass instead. It's probably less than 1/3 the price of custom ordering, but I'm very satisfied with the result. In particular, Ibanez's unique thin, flat neck and low setup structure make playing chords and melodies in a high-C setup very comfortable and fun. It feels a bit expensive for an instrument made in Indonesia, and there are some minor finishing touches that are disappointing. However, it has become my favorite instrument among the instruments I currently own, and it is an instrument that gives me pleasure when I play it every day.

Harley Benton MB-5LH SBK

The Harley Benton MB-5LH SBK is a surprisingly high quality and affordable left-handed bass guitar option for musicians who appreciate high sound quality, playability, and stylish looks. One of the first impressions of this guitar is its appearance. It looks very stylish with its matte black body and contrasting white trim, giving it a modern and aggressive look. This goes perfectly with its sound and character. In terms of sound, the Harley Benton MB-5LH SBK does not disappoint. It is equipped with two humbucker pickups that deliver a powerful and rich sound with great attack and deep bass. This makes this guitar an ideal choice for genres that require a heavier sound such as rock, metal or punk. Another advantage of this guitar is its affordable price. Compared to other left-handed bass...

More then a few people had some good stuff to say about this bass. So i decided to make a purchase. The bass is great, and i would put it up against some more expensive basses. It feels great, it plays great and it looks great. The weight is just right, not too heavy not too light. The tone palette is nice with the parametric middle pot and this is the only bad thing i can say about this instrument, that's why it got 4 stars on quality. The stacked pots are very very finicky and they feel cheap. They work ok, there is no noise or crackling, but you can move them both by just moving one as they are very lightweight.

I am blown away at the quality of this bass for the price. The Good: -sounds great -neck is smooth and very comfortable -the installed preamp sounds amazing for the price The (few) negatives: -small finish flaw on the headstock (not even worth photographing, rest of the finish was perfect) - fret ends a little sharp (easy to fix on my end) - Rosewood fretboard is super dry, picking up some lemon oil to treat it tonight. All in all the negatives are few and minor, I would definitely buy this bass again and suggest it to others as it plays well and sounds great. If I didn't know what i spent on it, I would have guessed at least 2-3x the price. Cheers

The Sire Marcus Miller P7 is a very nice bass, very playable with a lovely smooth satin finish neck, a couple of frets were a bit sharp at the edges higher up the neck but will no doubt smooth out. Nice weight, not too heavy and well-balanced. Very powerful 18 volt active eq. The neck needed a slight tweak to add a bit more curve to it and the strings were a bit low for my liking, but the intonation was spot on. I don't like the control knobs though, the controls work well and fairly smoothly but are plastic and look cheap! It might be worth considering changing these. Some have criticised the tuners but I think they are fine. Bone nut and through body tuning is a bonus. Bridge seems solid. It's a shame they no longer come with a bass bag. Brilliant price and you do get a lot of bass...
